This Has to Stop

RE: This Has to Stop
What's wrong with Dinosaur Train, I want to know? GC and CL both seem to think it teaches something silly. I love that show!

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Probably because it shows religion up for being the Big Lie. Religionistas often have a problem with children learning science "too early", they're a feared that too big a dose of the truth will harm the children and cause them to abandom the lie.

I think kids learning science is great. Not sure why my name is thrown into the mix here, considering I have never even heard of dinosaur train....

In my case, the brainwashing happened in church itself, rather than the parental units browbeating me about their own faith. A bit easier to ask questions of strangers, so perhaps the indoctrination didn't set so deeply. My parents were religious, but for me and my sister the programming was more social than familial.

Oh. You kudosed a post GC wrote in which he said this show teaches stuff that most adults wouldn't even believe. I assumed you agreed, hence the kudos.

Oh, I see what youre talking about. I kudosed GC's post right above that one, but the 2 posts got fused together.

Seem's you quit reading at the word bus, he is as hateful toward us as anyone can be and I take him serious.

So...look, I hate religious folk, that's no secret, and it's not that I want them to get run over by a bus, but...I'd rather see that than see them indoctrinate one more child. The bible is already obscene enough as it is and anyone reading it straight to a child should be institutionalized, but to actually try (and fail) to turn it into a presentable children's book is...is there a word for worse than obscene?

Yet you would applaud the "Dinosaur Train," that program targets the most vulnerable children and does it by the masses. That show claims things to be true that adults would never accept.

GC
Here you go, this is the post I meant.

Dinosaur Train is awesome! I actually watched it with my daughter when she was younger. There was nothing in it I couldn't accept to be true. It just teaches kids what scientists have recently discovered, and some of their best guesses, which they even explain how those theories are formed and why, about one of kids favorite subjects, dinosaurs!
