I agree that some religious people do that.
But in many cases; traits like "greatness", "infinite lifespan", "pureness","strength"...etc are quite hated by atheists.

It's the same discussion I've been having: humans are the worst of the creatures ever walked earth, so punishment should not be that surprising. If believe in God dictated that a certain doctrine would be followed to avoid the bloodbath humans always drench themselves into; then how is that different from secular systems and non-religious doctrines that call for the exact same thing; but isolating religion too?

God punishes if we sin. The government punishes if we sin.
God has a hell. The government has prison.
God has Saints. The government has cops.

If Obama and God disagree on something; it doesn't mean they are so different. One of them is copy-catting the other and playing his role. Obama is the copycat in my view. God prohibited homosexuality; Obama legalized homosexuality.

I see it as a difference in opinions; that's all. We theists prefer to be on God's side of the deal. IDK; but it stinks to believe serial killers get away with what they do after death. Afterlife seems more of a decent belief.

I never hurt anybody. But seeing the dead bodies of my people in wars for oil; civilians bombed because a gentleman saw that interest should rule, make me think twice about who is really evil.

Being bombed just because you're in the wrong place. Just for an interest.

Yeah, I don't think it's that we're upset at the idea of some sort of abstract thing that created the universe.

But the most popular religions don't end there. Their god is a voyeur, judging people on how well they can fight their programming, programming that this creator supposedly gave us to begin with. The clingy, passive-aggressive type that, on the one hand says "I only want your love," but on the other punishes those that don't want to give it. That, IMO, is detestable.

Space whales that farted existence into being? Cool. The id of a particular Jewish sect? Not so much.

We already held the market..and we neither sought nor secured "the oil" during or after the war.  We always maintained a stranglehold on oil services contracts.  That much was true before during and after.
