He sorta sounds like my 15 year old when he throws a tantrum and resorts to acting like a three year old. 

He'll take any attention; even bad attention as long as someone is paying attention to him. We usually end up yanking privileges when that happens. 

I say, if ya can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch with the pups.
