On this world if humans ceased to exist would god cease to exist?

RE: On this world if humans ceased to exist would god cease to exist?
"God" has already ceased to exist, because "God" ceased to begin existing.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yep. Because gods only have an imaginary existence inside human brains. And if humans cease to exist, human brains cease to exist, and the imaginary gods within those human brains therefore cease to exist as well.

Agreed, I was going to say God would just vanish, along with pixies big foot, the bogeyman and Trumps hairstylist.

That was for the theists benefit. Maybe I should have used seize(d).

God would go on not existing in the literal sense but it is hard to say whether He'd go on existing in the literary sense. I mean if a book has text on it but there is no one there to read it .. do the characters still 'come alive'?

I think you like making things up as you go. It's just easier for you that way.

I take all this serious, unlike you. They are one and the same, but then it's hard to teach a blind man to see.

It's hard to take someone seriously who claims god loved us before he created us. Just sounds like more unbelievable trappings to your already unbelievable book.

And if inspired, why did some "inspired" writings not make it into the bible? Apparently according to you "inspired by god" is the only qualification and is the same "as god".

I do not know how God accomplished this with those He chose to write scriptures. There are no inconsistencies in the Bible, just because you can't understand what it teaches doesn't mean that there are inconsistencies. All the books God wanted to make up the Bible are there because He saw to it as He worked through man to bring those books together to give us what we need to find Christ.

GC

If you don't know how it was accomplished, you can't claim it was accomplished, at least not without sounding ridiculous.
And just because you claim to have a special understanding of your god and know there are no inconsistencies in the bible doesn't mean squat, as you can't give evidence of either.
And how about those books he worked through man to create that they didn't put in the bible? Did he not mean to dictate those, or did he just change his mind?

That's a beautiful notion!

Well, Raptor Jesus morphed into Human Jesus.

No doubt when we wipe ourselves out he will morph into Roach Jesus.

I couldn’t find this in mh.brewer's PDF, but anyway here it is:

Who was at the empty tomb?

Mark - Three women visit Jesus’ tomb: Mary Magdalene , a second Mary, and Salome.
Matthew - Two women visit Jesus’ tomb: Mary Magdalene and another Mary.
Luke - At least five women visit Jesus’ tomb: Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Joanna, and “other women.”
John - One woman visits Jesus’ tomb: Mary Magdalene.
.....
When did they visit the tomb?

Mark - They arrive after sunrise.
Matthew - They arrive at about dawn.
Luke - It is early dawn when they arrive.
John - It is dark when they arrive.
.....
Was the door open?

Mark, Luke, John - The stone in front of Jesus’ tomb had been rolled away.

Matthew - The stone in front of Jesus’ tomb was still in place and would be rolled away later.
.....
Who greets the women?

Mark - The women enter the tomb and meet one young man in there.
Matthew - An angel arrives during an earthquake and rolls the stone away, and sits on it outside. Pilate’s guards are also there.
Luke - The women enter the tomb, and two men suddenly appear — it’s not clear if they are inside or outside.
John - The women do not enter the tomb, but there are two angels sitting inside.
.....
What do the women do?

Mark - The women keep quiet, despite being told to spread the word.
Matthew - The women go tell the disciples.
Luke - The women tell “the eleven and to all the rest.”
John - Mary stays to cry while the two disciples just go home.
.....

And on and on it goes. Some of the attempts by fundies to rationalise this away are fucking hilarious. But we won't go into that now, some of the lads around here are fucked in the head as it is.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
