Giving up. I have been trying to understand my math homework all night. Guess I'm going to have to go to the tutoring center tomorrow.

So... on first look, you have a function of X, so let's start with the whole Real domain and see where things break.

Things should break when you divide by zero (but the numerator, on top, is not zero), so that the result is not determined (what we usually call infinity).

The guy on bottom is zero when x+2=0, or when x = -2.

That makes f(2) = (-2+1)/(-2+2) = -1/0, which checks out as an invalid point, where f(x) loses meaning.
Any other?..... doesn't look like it, so.... your domain is simply ℝ, except {-2}, or ]-∞ , -2[ ∪ ]-2, +∞[

I can find my way through the cardiovascular system, almost with my eyes shut (you have to sleep sometime.  Why not during surgery?), but maths just makes my head hurt.
