He doesn't even say why he can't be bothered posting all the other references that he claims to have.

RE: The brain
OP, firstly atheists wouldn't be in trouble as we (speaking for myself) do not hold onto faith and belief in one particular view point. If science shows what you are claiming with rationality and evidence, I would accept it. Unlike theists there is room for growth in knowledge. Science can't "turn on us"

Secondly, you failed.

Unsubstantiated claim. And quite frankly, utterly wrong as well.

Wrong. If what you were saying what true then the scientific answer would be "We don't know".

Drich also assumes consciousness is one thing..

Please define "consciousness."  Thanks.

I actually agree with that part. As far as I'm concerned the brain doesn't host or contain consciousness because the brain is consciousness.

Ooh I recognise that avatar LostLocke. I've been considering buying the monster manual this month for a one-shot.

RE: The brain
Since Schwartz explicitly brings up the subject of his experiments with mediums in the video, I think the following is relevant. The points made in the article may not all obtain, but I think the flaws in his work justify discounting his claims about mediums and their ability to speak to the dead.

Quote:Professor Gary Schwartz makes revolutionary claims that he has provided competent scientific evidence for survival of consciousness and—even more extraordinary—that mediums can actually communicate with the dead. He is badly mistaken. The research he presents is flawed, and in numerous ways. Probably no other extended program in psychical research deviates so much from accepted norms of scientific methodology as this one.

What's this 'we' business? This is your claim so you ping the fucking server and get back with the results.

Show your work so that we can taunt you a second time.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
