The bosniaks could have been scientologists and the serbs would have been after them all the same. It was an ancient grudge driven by hostile ethnic ideologies from a minority party (within the majority ethnicity) with considerable power that wanted to seal the deal. They (eventually) ran into the brick wall of western power....and we (as in me...again, I was there with NATO) picked up the pieces in the aftermath. Amusingly, your boys the ottomans helped to form a basis for the animus..like I said..800 year grudge. Or, you know, cuz muslim. 50/50.
