I feel ya. Here we are trying to turn this into something that makes sense, lol......betya a dollar that only lasts as long as it take for Atlas to come back and insist that holding a god accountable for it;s actions is some sort of hedonist endeavor, lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yeah, I really don't get where he's going with any of this. He seems to spend the whole time making excuses for his blatantly abusive partner. I don't know why us putting the blame where it deserves to be bothers him so much. He's going to go to paradise to spend forever with this horrible monster, which is apparently a good thing, and we're going to get tortured or whatever. The particular way in which we piss off this tyrant doesn't matter too much, does it?
This is of course assuming this lunatic God actually does what it promises, or is even capable of it. No reason to assume either of those.
PS: I feel like he finds life as horrible as I do, and is trying to reconcile that with his faith. I at least have the advantage of not having to make excuses for someone I think is causing all my suffering.

Belief is what does that. If what you believe about god were true, he would be detestable.
according to what arbitrary standard? you've got to have SOME sense that your standards are as foolish to a North korean as His standards are to you. Now set in side his country who are you to say his standards are foolish?
If what we believe about God to be true than are we not in his country? then again who's standards do you use to judge God?

How many different threads do you want to discuss your moral and ethical bankruptcy in, as compared to my possessing standards?

Bashing "God" for the misery of the day seems like the perfect scapegoat. But aren't we ignoring the fact, that our existence here might not be for pleasure?
In other words; who said that we should enjoy this life? who said that we must satisfy the stereotype and live the predefined role dictated by the society?

I wouldn't bash God, I would bash life. I have found most non believers tried to bargain with God as some point sometimes for something like a girlfriend other time it was for something serious like cancer. ultamitly whatever the case was the unbeliver rubbed the lamp, no genie appeared and the wish went unfulfilled.
Now just imagine your picture of God IF he had indeed appeared out of a lamp and granted you wish after wish.
Who then in that senerio would be the servant and who would be the master?
So why then do you think God does not grant wishes?
Understand there is a vast difference between prayer and petition/wishing 99.9% of you has no clue as to how to pray especially if you think a wishing cermony can be included ina formal prayer.
Again if you are throwing wishes at God day in and day out and he does not want to be treated as a genie, why do you think He does not verify himself to you by granting your wishes?

What would the point in bargaining with a god be? It;s gonna do what its gonna do..just like it did whatever it did. Nothing I can do about that, but nothing can change it;s accountability for it, either.
as for this..
Quote:So why then do you think God does not grant wishes?
I;ve got a real simple answer to that question, lol...but you might want to confer with your fellow believers..because they;re the only people contending that he does.

You're well known for believing things that aren't true. This just becomes yet another in a long line of bullshit claims from you.
If this is a simulation, I suspect it's most likely something they do for entertainment; we're the galactic comedy hour.

There are more than two choices. For example, I choose to live for many things, including happiness, purpose, reproduction, education, exploration, among other things, as well as pleasure.
I fail to see how your description of "disbelief" in a particular sky fairy is relevant to the question. Please study the concept of non-sequitur.

Well, to be fair, atheists are indifferent about God. They usually don’t bash an entity that they don’t believe exists in the first place.

If there is no god, blaming it for things is pointless.
If there is a god, it can change what happens in the world and is DIRECTLY responsible for the actions of it’s followers, whether those actions are good or bad.
Free will is a weak excuse in the latter case.
