AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
I know the feeling, I have had times when I struggled to make my quota as well.

Here's a few hacks you can use to up your calorie count.

If you drink coffee with creamer, use half and half instead.
Sour cream added to whatever tastes good with it.
Avoid reduced fat dairy and other products.
Avocados.
Cheese.
Olives.
Unsalted nuts.

I've been making homemade teas but not using tea leaves. I have raspberry leaves, peppermint leaves and stevia leaves. I've been able to omit cane sugar from my drinks. I usually drink it cold over ice.

I can absolutely do the avocados, cheese and olives but nuts are deadly to me. I'll try the other things though.

I usually fall short of 1000 calories per day. I am aware that this is a problem because if you don't eat enough you can gain weight from that. I'm just not very hungry most of the time.

Learn what your base caloric requirements are for your weight and cut 500-1000 calories per day for 1-2 lbs per week weight loss.  You'll need to adjust as you lose as your caloric requirements drop.

That's what's worked for me so far.  Other than that, I got nothing.

I don't suppose you have an opportunity to see a nutritionist?

I can see a nutritionist at the Bariatric clinic. They put me on 1200 calories per day and I struggle to meet that now as it is.

Up until I quit smoking, I have never experienced this sort of problem before. And I'm frustrated because I don't have answers to what's wrong with me.

Joods, did you drop some initial weight when started the 1200kcal plan, and then plateau?  Or have to simply not lost any weight since starting all of this?  1000kcals is really low.  I would never recommend that to anyone long term.  Are you exercising?  Has anyone tested your thyroid function?

No weight dropped. The reason for the 1200 cal plan was because it was a requirement from the bariatric clinic, in order for me to get the surgery. Insurance insisted it be that way. I took two classes and a month later took a fall and injured my hip. I'm still not over that and I threw my back out two Fridays ago. I haven't been back to get the rest of the classes because of all of the problems I've been having lately. Needless to say, exercise is out for obvious reasons. Also - I had all the recommended blood tests - glucose, thyroid (TSH and T4), lipid panels, etc. Everything is normal with the exception of my cholesterol which is a bit high.

I should note that my resting HR hovers around 100-105. I know this isn't normal, right? No one seems to have any answers with that and my BP is normal.

Sorry for all that, Joods.

The lovely Kitty Galore and myself successfully aplit a dinner at our favorite Middle Eastern place. Granted, she eats like a bird now, but we could not finish it.

$27 dinner for two including a glass of wine. We never used to get out of here for under $70.

On a positive note, I signed the family up for a pool membership for the rest of this year and for next summer. I stayed in the pool most of the day Thursday and did some cardio while I was in there. So I feel like I did accomplish something. Going back again today.

Got the green light from the doc to start the treadmill again. Taking it one step at a time.

I love swimming.

I was on vacation and managed to gain three pounds. I'm okay with it, though. Back on the wagon as of yesterday.

Over the last month I've managed to drop about four pounds. A lot of it is being disinterested in food because I'm busy doing something, but I also did lots of walking on my vacation last week and am in an Intro to Ballet course for the month of July. Current weight is around 222-223. A couple more pounds down and I'll be under 100 kg again! W00t!

Lost another 5.

I have reached a point where my willpower is waning. I over ate a couple maybe three days in the last week. Probably more lile five tbh. I've had a pretty good run since I got serious 4 1/2 months ago - 40 lbs. 68 lbs down from my peak. I'm jist going to try and make good food choices for awhile and not focus on my weight

I should be getting into bariatric soon. We had a paperwork snafu that should be sorted tomorrow.

That should get me back in gear.
