"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

This is my buddy Hunter playing with the toy I got him for Christmas a few years ago. He's my sister's dog, but we were really close. He was my hiking pal and the recipient of hundreds of belly rubs, cuddles and treats. He had liver cancer that wasn't symptomatic until a couple of weeks ago. We had to put him down the day they found it. He was 8.

Oh, he really was cut down before his time.  Sorry.

Thanks. We really expected to have him a few more years. We would have at least liked to have had a "last day" with him to spoil him, but he was already at the end of his tether. To prolong it would have hurt for him, no matter how happy he seemed even in his last moments. Fuck, I miss that dog.

Yay!  We're going to need almost daily photo updates to begin with tapering off to no less than one a week thereafter.

Easy is still kicking, she's still a bitch, and she's still competing with my wife for my affection.  It's all so damned gratifying.  Imma breed her out soon...because puppies.
