Possible cat 4 to hit my area Thurs.

This kinda pisses me off. Power went out, ok, that happens with high winds. But this hotel is dangerous and should be fined for not having the emergency lights working. My power finally came back on. But there are lots of elderly patients here for Duke U hospital appointments. I am next to an exit so I'd be fine. But if a fire were to start in the middle of the night and the power were out someone could die.

Guys, I am 190 miles inland at a hotel. I'll be fine. My house though, that is only 2 miles from the Ocean. But I have been talking to people still there, and the worst I have to worry about with my house it seems right now, are broken windows and looters. I cant go back until Tuesday the earliest because it will be raining Sunday and Monday. The good thing seems to be that the city north of me took the brunt, but even then most of the damage was mostly downed trees. Some fucking assholes complained to the local TV station that a American Flag was not lowered for the storm. Hey assholes, if you want to honor the flag, worry about the human victims and not an object that can be replaced. 
Brian, what's your plan for heading back? Is returning restricted?

Raining Monday or Tuesday... the ground already won't soak up any more water. I can't imagine how things will be by then, but I wish you luck.

I know the geography where I live, it did not flood. My problem would be the highways between, and having to possibly take detours. I will check before I leave for sure. |
