Why are Christians so full of hate?

Just when one of your correligionists was showing 'love'?. You ignored that and went for the snicker remark. I believe you just wanted to jump into the fray, disregarding what he said.

You have so much to say about "love" you feel on the title, yet, said nothing about Drich's words. To be honest, wouldn't expect that much. You chose to remain silent about that, but didn't chose to remain silent on your remark.

I don't think I even read what Drich wrote; and what I said, had to do with the OP.

Also, the argument from silence is a fallacy (or almost always so).

You have replied to the OP before that post I quoted. Suddenly you decided to post that remark when Drich, was getting some heat for what he said. You can play the disingenuous all you want, it's there for anyone to see.

About the argument from silence being a fallacy, I don't know what you mean, seen it throwed around on other discussions but never payed much attention to that line of reasoning before. What I see is you selecting out Drich's posts, only concerning yourself with what atheists say. To me this is typical of theistic "defend at all costs believers in god" mantra.

I can proudly say that I have spoken against many atheists whose views didn't aligned with my own, like homophobic, racist, sexist, etc. I, never seen in 8 years of this forum a christian openly disagree with another. I have seen muslims disagree with eatchother, so I guess that is a plus for them.

My post had nothing to do with dirich... I didn’t even read it. Take it on it’s own.

And I’ve disagrees with theists here before (quite recently actually... about appealing to one’s profession). As well as other times.

But atheist complain if we don’t disagree, they complain if we do. Everything is an argument to put others down.

RE: Why are Christians so full of hate?
I think a large part of it is that their religion teaches them to have zero empathy. Just look at some of the biblical stories. You aren't supposed to sit out and feel bad for the people God drowned -- without even knowing what they've done. You're not supposed to feel bad that people were slaves or that they took the women and children. We aren't even supposed to feel sorry for the 70,000 people killed because King David took a census.

Christians have long lacked empathy. It's why they can turn their backs on people who are suffering and instead focus on people's sins. This is also in large part because there's no real profit in charitable works. Taking care of the sick and needy genuinely doesn't earn you the big bucks. Telling people how to live and what they're doing wrong? Selling them an after life without them having to actually do any physical work? That's where the big money is.

Of course, Christians will say they don't *HATE* people. That's because their definition of hate is very different. At least for other people. Example:

Person A: Say no to same sex marriage!
Christian View: This is NOT hate! It's just part of our beliefs.
Normal view: This IS hate because it's denying someone else's rights based on an individual's beliefs when someone else might not have those beliefs.

Person B: Ban Christianity!
Christian View: This IS hate.
If Christians were consistent their view would be: This is NOT hate. It's just part of someone else's beliefs.
Normal view: This is ALSO hate for the same reasons as the other example.

Basically they want rules based on THEIR god, but other people shouldn't have them based on theirs. Especially when it interferes with them. Again, this is because they lack both empathy and self awareness. They may not want to kill gay people, but they certainly want to deny them rights because they do hate them. It's just a different level of hate. One they can't quite understand because again... they lack empathy.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

3. Claims to have been a sinning atheist before finding god.
4. Wished atheists should get AIDS because that would make us believe.
5. Mutters that A/S/K bullshit a lot (triple lel).

You know, pieces of shit like that just demonstrate exacly what we say about religion and how it allows these hideous people to thrive in our society. he is the QED on what most atheists say.

Lol, well I know the cured from HIV / AIDS is bullshit the only time that happened was in Germany when a guy had a bone marrow transplant which somehow also functionally cured him, certainly I've never seen it in 30 years of nursing practice. Its possible he could be what we call a long-term non progressor, someone who gets HIV but has an immune response that keeps it in check naturally but they're pretty rare plus they still have HIV so not a cure.

But I mean that ones who take it seriously. So many of them are full of hatred or ascribe this emotion to their god. God hates sin, homosexuals or anything or anyone not like them. Why is this?

Probably completely useless to say this here, but what the hell.

The mainstream Christian belief is that God loves everyone. It is a belief that is fundamental to Christianity, and I'm sure you knew that already. As far as I've seen, the only Christian religion that has openly claimed God hates any people are the Westboro Baptists - who are a group of like 30 people who exist no where else in the world. There are undoubtedly others out there, but they are by far the outliers and not a representation of mainstream Christianity.

So, why do people like the Westboros believe God hates literally everyone who isn't them? Probably because they are shitty people and it makes them feel good to put others down. And they use religion to do so as a way to feel righteous while doing something nasty.

With that being said, I am truly sorry for any Christian that has hurt you, treated you badly, and hated you when they should have loved you. Based on the many threads you've started here, it seems you've gone through pretty traumatic experiences by the hands of Christians. Your threads seem personal and emotionally driven. And I'm sorry about that. As much as it upsets me to see Christians acting hateful towards anyone, I'm sure it hurts God even more. It must hurt Him very much to see "His people" treating His other beloved children so badly.

As for sin, yes, we believe God hates sin. Sin is simply the Christian word for "immoral act." As far as I know, all good people should hate acts that are immoral - cheating, lying, stealing, killing, etc etc. I don't see the controversy in that.

PS- I do take my Christian faith seriously.
CL if every Christian was like you I wouldn't have such a problem with them.

But in the US more than anywhere outside of the middle east, Christians use their belief as a weapon, an excuse to victimise, oppress and control and then cry when they are called on it.

We will soon hear about the Atheists fictitious war on Christmas. The count down has started and Fox are looking for any imagined slight so they can cry "victim".

This I predict.

Or yey another unhinged attack on the LGBT community after all it's not like the Westboro church is the only group determined to make their lives a living hell .

The argument from silence, is often a fallacy (considered almost always fallacious by some) where a person is reading into what another doesn't say. In it's valid form, you need to show why something almost certainly should have been said, and there is no reason that it was not. It would be similar to absence of evidence compared to evidence of absence. It is fallacy, because people don't normally show why the silence should not have been otherwise. For instance, there is a fancy party, which has a doorman admitting and recording the guest that attended. Person X is not on that list. This could be used to show, that this person was not at the party (or at least did not enter through the main entrance.) The fallacious version is feeling that something should have been said and wasn't while there could be any number of reasons, why they did not.

A persons silence on something doesn't mean that they didn't know about it, and doesn't meant that they don't have an opinion on it. It doesn't mean that they have a certain opinion on it. Arguments from silence even at their best; are still a rather weak argument, because they are trying to interpret what was not there.
