Not arguing semantics, simply pointing out that the US isn't democratic.

Um yes we are. It is just one party that doesn't want to play fair. The GOP has gerrymandered and deregulated since Reagan, but that does not mean we cant get back to the sane post WW2 policies that were more fair to workers.

We do have voting, and we have checks on power, but it is still up to the population to participate to insure those things work, even if not perfectly, we are still far better than dictatorships and theocracies.

Right now we have allowed too much power to our top earners, but that does not mean it has to stay that way.

You know, the Clintons were probably far more effective at tearing down your 'sane post WWII' policies than any of the Republicans. They are the ones who dismantled welfare, threw disabled people out into the street, and turned their backs on organized labor.

Do you know why they were more effective at it? Because of Animal Farm mentalities like yours. Four legs good; Two legs bad. Democrats good; Republicans bad. The Dems are frequently the Animal Farm pigs. Just because the Republicans are bad, it doesn't make the Dems good. When the Republicans are destroying your world, you scream like a little bitch. But when the Democrats are destroying your world, you cheer like a stupid cunt.

Personally, I am not convinced that Trump is all that much worse than Hillary. Trump is incompetent. Hillary is competent. When it comes to dealing with evil people, I actually do sort of prefer the incompetent ones.

So of you just don't get it.

The orange assclown doesn't really have a base.

His " true supporters" would get their asses handed to them by the Libertarians in an election ---- as long as Hillary isn' t running.

Practically nobody voted FOR Trump. They voted AGAINST Clinton.

If they were bound by truth in advertising laws -

Instead of Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats ----

They shoulda wore HBTH hats....

..

He's  better than Hillary.

His base won't erode. He could publicly set a copy of the Constitution on fire and his base would cheer him. He could do what China's president did and his base will cheer him on. The problem is his base is too deluded to accept the fact that they voted for a fraud. Look up the sunk cost fallacy when you have a chance.

Sure you are because you're more focused on the word 'elected' than the point of what I was trying to say.

You ignored the whole point of the thread and the whole point of my post to point out that 'anointed' would've been more appropriate than 'elected.'

Which is fine. But just don't act like that's not what you were doing.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !

Yea ok.

I was born at night, just not last night.

Skip the individual presidents and look at the platform of the two parties since Reagan.

The GOP since Reagan has always been, "don't tax the rich" and "deregulation"

The GOP since Reagan has constantly accused democrats, locally and in the house and senate, EVEN OUTSIDE the office  of the President as being commies and painted us as Socialists or Communists.

The irony is that prior to Reagan, the GOP was really economically slightly left of center, ECONOMICALLY.

Presidents like Lincoln and Teddy COULD NOT run on the republican party if alive today because they both gave a shit about workers. Trump only talks shit and when he does his pandering is to fear and bigotry.

Nope! They won't. They have proven to be so obsessed with him they will do anything it takes to validate their support for him. He is their Messiah.

Indeed they are so heavily invested in hi that they will rearrange the facts to suit their beliefs. Most are Christians and have practice at that sort of self deception.

Exactly! Bill Maher did a segment on this. He is their God.
