If you'd spend some time studying American history, you'd know about what can happen if you simply let the rich do whatever the fuck they want without checks on power. The coal mine scams of the early part of the last century had the barons buy up all the land, including the grocery stores and housing. They'd even in many cases not pay government currency, but in company script which was worthless in any case. By the time the worker's bills were due, they were in debt and were basically indentured slaves. If the GOP had it's way everything would go back to that business model.

This is the same attitude that kept led in gas decades even after it was proven harmful. The same attitude that big tobacco had in putting sales above public health. The same attitude that had car companies kicking and screaming when Nadar told them their products sucked. The same attitude that lead to the Great Depression and Bush's Great recession. The same attitude that had companies here in North Carolina, where I live, that allowed coal ash and GENEX to be dumped in our rivers. 

Letting big companies do what they want all the time is not a good idea.

"Secular" merely means NEUTRAL. 

"Secular" is the opposite of "sectarian" which is a specific sect of a religion or political ideology. CHINA is a sectarian state. It puts all it's power in one political sect in the communist party. Saudi Arabia is a sectarian theocracy. It puts all it's power into one sect of the Islamic religion. 

"Secular" in America is the opposite of that. Our First Amendment is an anti monopoly concept. It is designed so that no one group of any political or religious sect can gain a monopoly of power.

Economies are because of business. Corporations are businesses. If they fail the economy collapses. The economy collapsed and caused the Great Depression because those whom sold the investments "WHICH MEANS investing in the private sector" which corporations are, lied about their worth and that sucked people in, and when the real worth was revealed it was nothing more than a bubble that fleeced the investors. 

The only thing you can blame government for is the lack of regulations to prevent it.
