I am going postal.....
April 29, 2020 at 10:48 pm
Ok, not really, but I am pissed about the GOP'S constant assault on anything government. And recently like social security and medicare the GOP is trying to dissolve the United States Post Office.
While I have not used the physical buildings in recent years, I have long in the past, sent packages and paid bills in person at the local post office. I think they are as valuable as any library or museum.

Damn.
I was going to ask if I can join in on the rampage.
I'll just have to go on my own.

It's a regular event. When they realize that small businesses use the USPS to carry their advertising to the consumers they wake up. But they have to be reminded again and again.

I hate the fucking Repugnicans. I see them as enemies of humanity. I really want to fucking kill all of them.
Okay, I'm fucking drunk and I'm in self-isolation because of corona-fucking virus and I'm about to lose my fucking mind.
But still, yeah. Fuck the fucking Repugnicans!!!
I contribute my part and I fart in anybody who disagrees' general direction.
Did I get my grammar right?

I wouldn't get in a twist over this. According to sources, privatizing the Post Office would require an act of Congress. It seems very unlikely that the same House of Representatives that just impeached Trump is going to agree to the destruction of hundreds of thousands of union jobs.

Trump, and rest of the GOP, seem perfectly content to send out the stimulus checks with Trump's name on them and a letter telling people what they got and that Trump is the reason they are getting it through the US mail.
They aren't done with the PO yet.
All that needs to be done is the issuance of a Trump stamp and the bitching will die down.

That's actually something to look forward to - the US Post Office doesn't issue stamps of living people...

For the first time, living people will be eligible to be honored on U.S. postage stamps.
The U.S. Postal Service announced Monday that it is ending its longstanding rule that people cannot be featured on stamps while they're still living. It's inviting suggestions from the public on who should get the first stamp...
…
The financially struggling Postal Service is hoping the change will boost stamp collecting — and bring in more money, because collected stamps aren't used for postage.
The Postal Service said it will consider stamps for acclaimed living American musicians, sports stars, writers, artists and other nationally known figures.
As you can see by the date, this isn't a new thing...all that threatening to privatize the PO has been going on for a while.

Well, bugger that for a lark. It seems I've been misinformed. Thank you for the correction.

I'm not sure of the words 'living people will be eligible to be honored'. Seems a stretch putting Trump in that category.
