I hope people are smart enough to reaize when a movie is from a different era and can portray immoral actions differently and still be a good movie. Look at all the movies that glorify killing and violence. Why doesn't HBO ban those too?

It's not from a different era. It's a movie from this era that very intentionally catered to the lesser elements of this era. Rev explained this at length.
