You have to get past my glasses. Wink

Quote:For the record - I'd like to state for the defense that that incident was blown way out of proportion, and perverted salty's meaning. That was my take. *retreats gracefully*

Salty's meaning was irrelevant in the context. She asserted that people are scared of her, even hinting that it had something to do with the color of her skin. She also, if memory serves me right, asserted that alei should bring a weapon, should she choose to visit salty. Salty later said that she didn't mean it the way it sounded, but saw that it could be taken that way. That is fine; the incident went no further. My point is that this situation is being blown out of proportion too. If one is capable of puffing themselves up to look like a scary tough guy, one should be able to handle a few jabs at their intellect. Now, I really do not want to go further with this. People here know where the lines should be drawn. If one is dishing it out and can't take it, they have no recourse. Tough titty, said the kitty. She is one in a great many who do not like being told they are wrong. She is taking it personally. Yes, in other threads, her words were taken personally. Given that they were hate speech hidden behind the veil of Christianity, one can hardly blame those that lashed out. Salty and everyone here have a choice, stick to the argument and not the person (or at least pepper your insults with actual on-topic arguments) or end the conversation altogether. Page after page of useless "everyone is a meany" and "you are too" isn't getting anyone anywhere.

I don't have to puff myself up to be a tough person, just standing up for my beliefs in the face of all this opposition shows my strengths. Moreover, asking people to be civil isn't a sign of weakness, it's simply a way to get the course of discussion back on track and less dependent on how people can insult one another.

You've made it exceedingly clear that being here is all about "sucking it up" so I better start working on it. Let me know if I bring up another victim situation so I don't step out of line Shell B. Thanks.

Lucent has no idea what gods okay with, he just can't admit it, so he continues to run off at the mouth at gods expense. Not that his kitten drowning god would actually give a shit if people were bullshitting about him.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. The only people, in their heads, who will be there, are the ones who choose all of the bullshit they've been listing. It feels like free will to them. Those who don't hold to those values mean nothing and will spend eternity in hell. We could choose to exercise our free will to embrace their values, or keep on being slavish to our own 'other' choices.

I've got a few requests of all of you handsome heathens for while we're down there. Satan's setting me up with quite the palace.

Well, since you brought it up, Satan is the other half of this equation. The universal problem is, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Satan uses sin to keep people deceived and blinded from the light of the gospel. So, what you're choosing is death over life, and sin over truth.

What it always comes down to is the rejection of Gods authority over personal autonomy to sin. And at least one atheist is intellectually honest enough to admit it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E01VPsdoz...re=related

The bit I'm referring to is at 4:21

Hell isn't going to be any more pleasant for Satan than it will be for anyone else:

Revelation 20:10

and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

We can't see each other's expressions, we can't hear each others voices, we can't reason with eachother. I can't stress enough that people are different in person, you and me both.

Many people also have this idea that if you don't like someone online you won't like them in person, that's ridiculous. No matter how unkind people have been here on this forum to me I'd drop everything I'm doing to meet any of you, it's just really different to connect a real person to a name. If you're ever in Washington DC, let me know. I'd like to meet you.

Aside from the impracticality of meeting people from this forum, I can only reiterate what Rhythm said. You'd better start understanding that I find your views abhorrent. I cannot like a person like you, because the things you say and stand for disgust me. And as I mentioned to you before when you accused me of being 'scared' to meet you (how laughable), if I were in your city, meeting you would be way, way down my list of priorities, somewhere between having my balls removed with a cheese grater and forcing the Washington monument up my arsehole. I suspect my feelings mirror the feelings of others. I hope this point is now unmistakeably clear.

No, that isn't what I said. I never said the time was set in stone, or if our decisions might not effect that time. Abortions are not Gods decision, they are the decision of the person aborting the child. To allow it to happen is His decision, and that because of free will.

I wouldn't be quoting revelation here Lucky, a more drug fucked piece of delusional writing I am yet to witness.

So.... abortion is OK by god?

Facepalm

No one dies before their time...that's set in stone Lucent, whether you know the time or not, and means that the abortion was that time. End of.

So what you said here "In every case, He decides the time." is not actually true then.

Your presence would not cause me to change my opinions, or the way in which I convey them. Your eyes wouldn't intimidate or feel intense to me at all. I'd be willing to wager that they I would find them vacant and entirely benign. I wouldn't like you in person, as I mentioned very very early on in our dealings, and you have reenforced this with a good 90% of your posts. I cannot stand people who hold the beliefs you hold. I cannot stand people who trot out fairy tales and call them facts. Nothing about your presence or person will change this.

Ok. Call me if you're in Washington DC sometime. We'll hang out!
