RE: Where do we go when we die and are you afraid?

Odd thread. I have already made my will, everything goes to my kids. I have already told them that when my time comes, pack me in a cardboard box and light a match, because I won't be there anymore. Do I fear the oblivion of death? No more than I fear the oblivion I had before birth. Do I fear the process of dying? Sure. There are plenty of nasty, painful ways to die. Believing in jebus or whatever will not stop that.
When my time comes, I would prefer something swift.

It's like asking "What year will I be transported to, back in time, when I jump off this cliff ?"
I'm just really fascinated by the idea that when people jump off cliffs, they travel back in time to live some other amazing life.
It's like the person who believes this doesn't have a full understanding that when you jump off a cliff, you aren't magically transported back in time. You fall to your death. Gravity takes you down. There is no magical time portal that is activated the moment you jump off a cliff.
And when you die, there is no magical portal that takes your consciousness somewhere.
When you die, you die. You are dead. That's it.
Prove it

You can't prove a negative - there is zero evidence for an afterlife does for most rational minds. Good to have you back Shazza!

If you're happy then you're happy. You're probably happier than I am because you're at peace with your life and comfortable with the idea that whatever you do on earth, you won't be punished for when you die.

An atheist is somebody who lacks belief in god(s). Atheists do not have to prove there is NO god(s) in order to lack the belief that they exist.
According to the chap who wrote "the god that wasn't there" the only unforgiveable sin, according to Christianity, is denying the existence of the Holy Spirit, in thought or word. The poor chap was terrified for decades he's "accidentally" done this at some point and would be damned to eternal torture as a result! THANKFULLY he saw the light in his mid thirties and is now an atheist.

2.I fail to see how the existence of a heaven or hell would determine good or bad
ok then, substitute good for godly. because no godly thing can enter hell.

Onto a live DVD and/or live Spotify playlist some time later.
