I kid you not, once a few years go, in the middle of the night, my TV remote batteries crapped out on me while channel surfing, and I got stuck on Fox News. I literally called a cab to take me to Walmart to buy new batteries just to get off that fucking channel.
You COULD have just unplugged the TV. Is your whole life centered on looking at the TV!? Pretty sure that I've watched a good three hours in the last month...government reporting of the reaction of our state to the Covid crisis aside.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

When he turned it back on it would have still been on FUX News. To get rid of that option he needed to have a remote that worked. This isn't hard.

All televisions have manual controls for power, channels and volume. They’re variously located depending on the model, and can admittedly be tricky to find.
Anyone who takes a cab ride in the middle of the night to buy batteries for the remote is just stupid, stupid, stupid.

I keep batteries on hand...for the mantle clock and my dad's old clock, the remotes, wireless computer mice (mouses?), my headphones, my hearing aids, the smoke detectors. They just seem like something to have on hand so that you have them when you need them...kinda like keeping extra light bulbs around.

We have backup batteries for everything we own. We get 'em at CostCo in industrial-sized packages, something like 4 dozen for the AA batteries. I bought a bunch of the LR44 batteries for my mini LED flashlights and digital electronic calipers. 40 of them for $8 and free shipping from eBay. They are a buck or two each at the hardware store, depending on the brand. They are near the end of their shelf life- best by 2020. I still have 10 left, after a little less than a year. So I didn't mind that, as they were so cheap.

Yes, it was irrational. But between the damage Fux News does, and whom have far more social power than I do, do you really think my doing that causes more damage to society than say Hannity, Limbaugh, Trump?
Humans are flawed, including me.
Right now we have an dangerous asshole shitting all over the world and the White House. I really don't think what I did was a national security threat. Irrational, yes.

I didn’t say you were a threat. I didn’t say you were more damaging to society than the people you named. You’d have made a wonderful photographer, the way you enlarge everything.
I said you were stupid. I can’t wait for the day when you tell us how your beer bottles mowed over your lawn mower cover because you didn’t have spare batteries for your air conditioner.
