Yes and no. It is very diverse.

Lastly. I was under the impression that New Yorkers were rude. They weren't. I can only come to the conclusion that American's themselves think that New Yorker's are rude, by comparing them to themselves, who are probably even nicer.

There really isn't a distinct American culture. We're a mismash of cultures, really.

Our foreign policy does leave much to be desired.

I've never been to New York, but that is the stereotype. Whether it's accurate or not, I can't say. There are rude people everywhere. I grew up in an area where most people are quite nice, laid back, and enjoy a slower pace of life.

How do you define "rude" in America?

I can't speak for all of the USA, and every region has distinct differences. Where I live, there is a large recent immigrant population who have brought along their own cultures. I personally think that the cultural diversity is a good thing.

The United States is a country comprised of 1st Nations People (who tend to be ignored when one is discussing American culture), people who immigrated here, and children of immigrants. I, for example, am Mexican/Cherokee/Brasilian/Russian. When people immigrate to a different country, they do not leave their cultures behind. It is part of their identity.

I get the impression that when most people refer to American culture, what they are referring to is white middle class American culture. But there is so much more going on here.

Well, here, Turks themselves have different regional cultures, however, they do not differ from eachother the way it would if we would have large populations of immigrants within our borders...

Wow, you are quite...Diverse, as I see. But that's how it goes for America I guess, not many people who are ethnically solitary, and generally tend to stick to a single ethnic identity...So how exactly do you live out your ethnic heritage?
