That's interesting, are you a medical professional? People have every right to make decisions concerning their health and their body. Including the refusal or withdrawal of treatment, at any time, even if it seems medically unsound to you. That's not up for debate; that's part of medical moral discourse.

Yes, retired. And you're incorrect, medical professionals, courts and legislatures have this debate routinely.

I agree, they have the right to refuse up to a point (ever heard the saying your rights stop where my nose starts). Depending on the medical issue, once the point is crossed there may be consequences. The point is usually when the person(s) have the potential to cause harm to others due to behavior or disease or both. Haven't you heard of mandatory requirements for vaccinations to travel, enter a country, attend school, serve in the military,........? How about mandatory mental health treatment in lieu of incarceration? Do you believe ebola infected people in the US could refuse treatment and be let out to continue their normal routines?  If the individual does not want the treatment and they are considered a threat to others they can be isolated from society or have treatment imposed upon them.

Locally we had a MDR TB patient that didn't leave VA isolation for over a year. In part because he refused treatment in the beginning.

I agree with your examples. Antivaxxers exist, in part, because of such measures. The more you make medical treatments obligatory, specifically invasive ones, the more people will resist them. There's no anti-IV movement spreading around, even though it is a similar procedure, because IVs are not mandatory.

These kinds of studies allow for better approaches to be taken. Approaches that might increase the number of people that get vaccination. Without requiring any mandatory interventions.

IDK, that little girl looks way too healthy. Antivaxxers tend to be fucking sick. If I had to guess, even she got all her shots.

It's already starting with the cousins. Some of have died from Covid.

1. They don't believe it was COVID.
2. They blame the Democrats for COVID.
3. They think the vax has microchips.
4. They think the vax has ONLY microchips.
5. If an unvaccinated family member dies, they say the Democrats did it.
6. If a vaccinated family member dies, they say the Democrats did it. This includes auto accidents, firearms accidents and not being bright enough to look both ways before crossing a street.

7-99. I'm too tired to type them out.

If ever approved I wonder if this will help the refusal rate?

Israeli company claims oral COVID-19 vaccine on its way: https://www.jpost.com/health-science/isr...way-662712

Quote:The company completed a pilot animal study and found that the vaccine promoted the development of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies and Immunoglobulin A (IgA). IgA is necessary for longer-term immunity.

The new Oravax vaccine candidate targets three structural proteins of the novel coronavirus, as opposed to the single spike protein targeted via the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, Kidron said. As such, “this vaccine should be much more resistant to COVID-19 variants,” he said
