New theistic chew toys wanted!
RE: New theistic chew toys wanted!
The fun thing about totems, is that they all work to protect us from evil spirits, judging by the amount of evil spirits in our lives.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Rum and Gin?

Yes, you need a good spirit like vodka.
Coconut rum is really great. Gin is nasty. Vodka and orange juice is good.

Sounds like nothing actually kept you close to god and away from the negative bullshit.

I'm more of a beer guy myself, especially cheap weaksauce beer - but bourbons good too.

Yeah, I'm a beer girl, myself.

My mother tried introducing me to wine, but I couldn't get the taste for it.

I would agree. I took down the Cross on my wall, and gave the Cross and my Rosary beads to the thrift store. Then I found that hand/eye ornament online, and thought it would make a nice substitute for my Catholic relics.

It's been years since I've had any of those drinks.

I love wine. Nice and smooth. Levitate

Sure, I keep strange and seemingly random items because they provide me with a sense of calm. I have a respectable collection of devonian fossils - owing to the rock wall and creek cutting through my property. My house is also free of evil spirits.

As for the hard liquor - no need to hide it in front of me, I'm not your god - I won't be judging you for it. I feel like we're losing the pulse, though. Is there any valuation or human tick that you wouldn't expect another person to share with you if those people didn't hold your beliefs about a god?

It's my opinion that these beliefs we might hold about value and the nature of being - even of being, proper... are wildly overdetermined.

Happiness. But that's just my perspective.

If your belief in God brings you happiness, Ahri, I'm cool with that. IMO, it's one of the valid reasons to believe.

But don't you suspect some people are happy without that belief?

edit: I'm a beer man, btw. Rum for cheap liquor and whiskey when it's the good stuff.

I've always been happy, even before I knew what Catholicism really was. But I feel like I've always believed in God, on some level, so I attribute my happiness to my belief in God. Honestly, I can't fathom how a person could be happy without believing in God, but if someone tells me they're happy, and they don't believe in God, I suppose I have no choice but to take their word for it.
