Had a couple of panicky hours - we cancelled our hotel reservations going forward figuring we could just remake them in the morning.... It turns out that motels that take large dogs with secure parking fill up fast during the snowbird migration. We're good now.

When I lived in Sierra Vista I had some company from home. We were going to drive to Nogales and wander around a bit. I accidentally went across the border because I wasn't sure where could stop and park. After a 5 minute little cruise into Mexico we turned around and had to go through customs though we hadn't even gotten out of the car.

Reating in Nogales, a hair over 1000 miles to go. Two more overnight stops to go - Navojoa and Mazatlan.

Well, there's a burst water pipe in my street. Good thing I'm going out for lunch.

Yesterday I started a tidy of my linen press. Got the towels looking nice and neat. Next is sheets and quilt covers. I have about a dozen sheets and eleventy two quilt covers (that's because I threw out a bunch the other day, a wheelie bin full.) I have a rule of thumb with clothes and linen; If I haven't used it for 2 years, out it goes. Last year reduced my clothing by 70%. Kept the ties, some of which are older than me. I'd like to do something creative with them, but my mind is blanker than usual***-------Ahh jeez, Himself has just managed to climb up my leg into my lap and is helping me type. Also been giving away old dinner sets, old computer peripherals and shit like that. ( bought my first PC in 1999. A Pentium 2, with a massive 64 meg of RAM)..


*** I have good suit. It's black. I only wear it to weddings and funerals. Only time I wear a tie is to funerals. Have been going to a lot more funerals than weddings and christenings over the last few years. My Old Fart's group has lost five. To be expected I guess. I'm the youngest, two are 89 a couple late 70's and rest over 80 .There are ten of us at present, but a couple don't look at all well.

Toss it as you go. I walk the dog all over the area that I live in. I can always tell when someone is moving- there's a 30 yard dumpster in front of the house. I keep telling my wife we need to pare down our possessions, but she is a hoarder, kept barely under control. The latest move was right up the street, and they had TWO 30 yard dumpsters, both over-filled. I lived pretty much like a monk, in terms of possessions, before I married. I didn't even have a TV. I had an active social life that didn't require one. Since I retired, I have a bunch of dress clothes that I will never wear again, to give away.

This place is not.the Taj Majal by any measure.
