That Gay Thread
RE: That Gay Thread
Oh, I know, @Huggy Bear. You poor, persecuted, misunderstood thing, you. It just isn’t fair, is it? ❤️

Considering her critics were implying this woman was suggesting parents be Required to receive consent before changing their nappy's  thus making them sit in soiled diapers because they can't consent and that changing them is equal to violation of consent like rape. Something she didn't say. She only suggested you at least ask before you change them not you don't change them anyway or that you have committed some kind of violation if you didn't get a response before changing. And yes it does create a culture of consent because as she puts it "you’re letting that child know that their response matters." even if ultimately you have to change diaper anyway. As it teaches them to at least consider other people's responses before doing something. Also of course people were accusing her of implying babies could consent which is also false as she makes it clear they can't.

If you’d like to talk about consent, why don’t you simply start a thread about it? I mean, unless your angle is to try and smear the LGBTQ community any desperate, and blatantly irrational way you can come up with. In that case, carry on. You’re doing great.

I'm appalled LFC... Where did I smear gay people? I simply just quoted one, besides Foxaire put up an article about 'gloryholes', is that LBGT specific?

Not exclusively LGBT, but, given the sex-segregated nature of most public restrooms, it is far more common in LGBT circles than straight ones.

Honestly, your equivocation is making you sound like - Did you ever watch Denial? It's a movie about the time David Irving sued Deborah Lipstadt for libel and proved her 100% right in the process. This part isn't in the movie, but I remember watching an actual interview (the movie dramatises a different interview) post-verdict, and when the interviewer confronted him on a poem that had been read in court with the lines "I have no plans to marry an/ape or Rastafarian" and asked if he was racist, he asked  something along the lines of "You think Rastafarians are black? Is that what you're telling me?" While I don't think the Rastas specifically bar white people from joining them, anyone who's done any research on them beyond MARIJUANA knows that their history is so tied to black liberation that it's fatuous to NOT assume a sort of racial element. And while I'm not going to assume anything about your beliefs, although you've made your stance on LGBT people as clear as an unmuddied lake in this thread, you certainly equivocate like Davey-boy did. And I wish I could find that interview on Youtube, but it's either been purged from the website or there's enough of a sea of videos about Irving or Lipstadt that I can't find it.

I’m still waiting for @Huggy Bear to start a “That Black Thread” so that I can start innocently “just posting news” about black people. What’s taking so long, Huggy?

You know I read a quote a long time ago that makes a lot of sense to me.

"Homosexuality: Straight men fear that they'll treat them the same way they treat women."

I'm paraphrasing because I can't remember the exact quote.

I'd really like to know why Huggy is so riled up about gay people and trans people. There has to be a story there somewhere. Maybe it's dark and scary in that closet.

Probably simplistic to think that hostility hides a lot of fear. May be an indictor of insecurities in his own sexuality.

However, as Herr doctor Freud never said  "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar". He may just be an ignoramus and a bit of an arsehole. Huh

RE: That Gay Thread
I suspected that he was just that inculcated, but then, I remember him asking something like “Are black people in media more likely to be LGBTQ than straight?” And the way he posed the question, it was like he expected the answer “Yes.” This question struck me as bizarre. Are the only shows he watches Kimmy Schmidt, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Orange is the New Black, and Pose? I get the impression the only way he can get an idea like that are if his media tastes skew strongly towards gay media. And if he’s that homophobic, and his tastes evidently skew that far towards gay stuff that he thinks black people are more likely to be LGBTQ than straight in media (it’s one thing if they’re more common in media than in real life, but this is just strangely wrong), the whole Armored Closet Gay stuff really starts to make sense.

Edit: It took a while, but I found it in Post 1064, with him asking "Would you say that there's more black lbgt representation than straight black representation?"
