Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
We could use what we have better, for sure...but in the end that won't save us. That's why The Wife and I are all in on responsible use.

I could..with a bad idea, effectively starve an entire us county. If a person doesnt think that I...personally..should make that call...then.......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

wait,  where did the nitrogen used to grow cattle feed come from?    Is cattle more effective at making manure than humans?  The bible and koran all prove humans can make a ton of manure out of each pound of food.

I know, right? If manure comes from cattle, why are there still cattle?

And we could all use hot air balloon instead of cars with all the hot air in here ;p

Then I suppose it's time to update Ukraine's latest postage stamp.

Really. Europe gives Putin 1 billion dollars every day for oil, so if everyone in Europe becomes a vegan they can turn all the food for livestock into ethanol to run cars on it, and thus they won't need to buy Russian oil and Russia won't have money to fund the war.

I suspect mandatory veganism would cost more lives than it would save. I for one would blow my brains out if you took away my roast beasts.

I feel I’m not alone in this.

Boru

You are not.

The gravy outage alone would be torture.

Now I am fine if some rando wants to go vegan for whatever stupid reason they can magic out of the tall weeds of a pseudo religion. Go right ahead, sez I. No skin off my nose.

Except that it is. Once one has a vegan in circle of compadres, they are unable to help prosyletising. And it quickly gets irritating.

Partially off topic, but the counter has a great story about an eight year study of biodiesel and concluded that biodiesel fuels increased carbon emissions over gas vehicles by up to 24%. Land use.

it appears not to have sunk, Pentagon assessed it as heading back to port under its own power.

The Moskva is an 38 year old cruiser that appears not have been modernized since the fall of the soviet union 32 years ago, in contrast to her sister ships.   I would not be surprised if she still carried the same outfit or ammunition she had onboard when the soviet union fell.  if that is the case, things like solid rocket boosters for its surface to air missiles, and even some warheads are likely long past their safe storage period and may well blow up if attempted to be fired.
