And I’m not sure why the US would put ICBMs in Taiwan. It’s less that 200km from China.

Then, please, humor me, what was the hubbub over the Cuban Missile Crisis? Once again not the same as the Soviets actually put missiles in Cuba NATO has given no evidence they intended the same in Ukraine

Kids are cruel. Why did they laugh? Was your one world government the exertion of pure might in practice, or did it ground itself in some set of ideals you admired but they found silly?
I got the idea from reading Carl Sagan. Carl Sagan didn't know everything

Why did the United States send troops to Russia:
Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War

Why did the United States send troops to Russia:
Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War 1. That was before NATO even existed ....
2. That conventional war not Nuclear weapons
3. That was a US invention in a civil war not a first strike in a sovereign state
So totally irrelevant

Russia doesn't trust the West; they've been invaded several times over the last 200 years. Now, maybe they should trust the West, but, at present, they don't.

The cases are not parallel. Russia is already in range of a nuclear strike by NATO. In 1962, the US might have reacted differently if Jamaica and Hispaniola were already pointing nukes at the US. That aside, Putin might - might - have had a case if the US was actually in the process of installing nuclear missile silos in Ukraine.
But that’s all moot, since the prospect of Ukraine eventually maybe someday joining NATO wasn’t Putin’s stated reason for the war.
