You realize it is not just the distance but the intervening interstellar medium that blocks and homogenizes flares of distant stars, right?   In almost everything a start emits besides light and gravity, interstellar medium acts as a blanket,  So the material of the nearest star’s flare would run into interstellar medium and be brought to a stop before it has even covered 1/2000th the distance between the nearest star and earth, right?

You realize science is not just like the vapid Quran over which you can have another one of your idiotic Quranic reflections, right?    It actually has facts behind it that you must learn, and specific, concrete, testable relationships that you must understand, right?

I believe in the domino-effect, or in other words: the scientific concept that is called "The Butterfly Effect", and I quote the scientific landmark of the chaos theory:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

Quote:The idea that small causes may have large effects in weather was earlier acknowledged by French mathematician and engineer Henri Poincaré. American mathematician and philosopher Norbert Wiener also contributed to this theory. Lorenz's work placed the concept of instability of the Earth's atmosphere onto a quantitative base and linked the concept of instability to the properties of large classes of dynamic systems which are undergoing nonlinear dynamics and deterministic chaos.[4]

Read my bold again and again. Science did say that the Butterfly Effect is a true valid probability.

So even if the planets' orbits had tiny microscopic changes, the change would reach you. Or:

Quote:"...whatever we do affects everything and everyone else, if even in the tiniest way. Why, when a housefly flaps his wings, a breeze goes round the world."

“I believe”.  🤪🤣   as if that makes it true.

but for kicks let’s say it is true,  then butterfly effect would rather nullify astrology since minute differences in star position much smaller than could possibly be pinned down by any astrologers would have effects all out of proportion and nullify the predictions of astrologers, don’t you think?

You misunderstand the Butterfly Effect. Both Wiener and Lorentz were careful to state that the effect only applies to the same system. While it’s true that small perturbations in a system can have a cascade that effects greater changes in the system, a butterfly flapping its wings doesn’t determine what I have for breakfast.

Similarly, the positions (and perturbations in those positions) don’t affect daily decisions and personality traits.

But none of your ‘reasons’ for believing in astrology matter. In the final analysis, if a methodology is based on a false premise, then the methodology is hopelessly flawed. Astrology is based on geocentrism, which we know to be false. Therefore, astrology is bunk.

The most violent and energetic events in the universe are black hole mergers. They produce gravitational waves we are trying to detect with LIGO.

The effect these events have here on earth is an expansion of space equal to 1/1000 the diameter of a proton.

Astrology is full of falsehood, but some of it is true, we are discussing "the positions of the stars" and their effect on earth.
After all, we are all part of the same system (i.e the universe) and the tiniest difference in star/planetary systems would lead to differences here on earth, just like science proved:

@9:10

Isn't that what Astrology claims? to know the "exact routes a chaotic orbit would take; and the effects of that orbit" ?

Comparing Astrology with Astronomy is just like comparing apples with oranges.
Just like comparing science to a prophecy.

But after all, the positions of the stars do affect our little planet.
Science said it.

Our system is the universe.
It's all related. 9:10 in the video I posted.

And at 9:40 he flatly states that predictions about the future - astrology’s bread and butter - are no better than guesses.

Nope. There are turtles in a swamp in Iowa passing gas right now and the butterflies that they aren't farting have more of an effect on you than any star other than the sun ever will. Every whale that humps half a world away has more effect on you. You will never feel the tug of a star because their infinitesimal pull is swamped by the tremendous gravity shift you feel when snow slides off your roof*. You can invoke chaos until your eyes bleed, but those turtle farts will always produce more chaotic effects than your feeble star gravity. Science tells your superstitious nonsense to pound sand.

9:40 is talking about predictions.
9:10 is talking about long-term effects of the cosmic system.

Moreover, just like we today are capable of simulating scenarios in a simulation, maybe the people of the past had similar methods or knowledge.

So frog farts block gravity?

About effects of close objects; sure; the closer an object is to you the more it affects you.
But that doesn't nullify the far objects' effects on you.

For example, even though the sun's gravity is strong on the short term and affect us in stronger ways than other objects (just like the frogs' gas and earth) , the Black Hole on the center of our galaxy wins on the long term, and it shall eat our planet eventually.

Again, see 9:10 of the video I posted.
