Sources, or no cigar. I recommend posting links. Also, the constitution was not written until 1789.
Also, your quote says "for use in all schools." What context? The bible can of course be taught as literature, even today.

And that makes god real?
I told my wife to spend $10.00 for a Donald Duck toon for my kid. According to your logic, that should make Donald Duck real too.

The bible can have many uses. All those nice, soft, absorbent pages.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Aside from the fact that Congress is filled with criminals and hypocrites then as it is now, you'll note that those laws do not establish christianity into US law or otherwise create a 'state religion.'
They recommended bibles for use in schools. Today, schools allow students to bring in bibles but they actually teach evolution because the former has nothing to do with the state and the latter is actual science.
You have not posed an arguement. You have posed trivia that is only related to the discussion peripherally but adds nothing.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

I would pay actual money for a bible made entirely of toilet paper.
As it is, the pages can't absorb anything and tear easily and they HURT.
The bible allows my table to stand perfectly level, however and it's perfect for thwacking people over the head.

Ha ha, lol. That would be why the lying fucker didn't post any sources. He probably heard it word-of-mouth from someone on a biased fundy forum.

No, they did not you fucking moron. In 1777 the American army was suffering in Valley Forge and congress could not afford to buy them blankets and food.
This is just more xtian shit from Glen Beck and a moron named David Barton.

As to your other assertion, that is even more false.

I know you are easily fooled...otherwise you would not be a fucking xtian to begin with but really, how fucking stupid are you?

Wtf?
What about China, India? The two most populated and economic powerhouse nations in the world...one is an atheist and the other a secular (and mostly Hindu) nation.

I believe I have made my point. Please do not reply, I will not be answering any more questions. Merry Christmas and God bless America .
Einstein said; "I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangements of the books, but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God."
