I thought it was allergies but now I think I am battling a cold. Pretty sure it's not as dire as COVID but I am tired of it nonetheless.

Reading corned beef and cabbage recipes. My basic plan is to simmer the brisket in beef broth for two hours, then add the veggies and continue simmering until they're cooked through.

I decided to go with shredded carrots instead of whole. It's not clear when the best time to add them is. I guess I'll drop them in under the cabbage.

It's rather chilly out. I was thinking of running some errands later. It looks like it will be in the 30s all week.

Just got the big ole dog crate down from upstairs and cleaned it up. Put in a smallish dog bed for Harley to use as her recovery room. Now off to put air back in the inflatable neck ring so that's ready. Have to drop her at the vet at 8 in the morning.

Sauteing mushrooms, I think that they keep longer in the fridge.
