It's unnerving that we are at the two month mark, all hell's broken loose, and no one has the guts to stand up to Trump...no one.

Politicians won't, they don't have the backbone to to stand.
The military might, the malicicious compliance over Enola Gay etc. should indicate that. It might take him issuing a blatently illegal order to force the straight up refusal to carry out orders though.
Other than that the people will if they have an example to follow.

The Democrats need to take a page out of Bernie Sanders book and stop trying to play nice - as much as I admire Michelle Obama, that ‘when they go low, we go high’ stuff isn’t going to work.

Their best shot is to spend the next 20 months shrieking at the tops of their lungs and at every opportunity about what a shit show the Trumpers are creating. Town halls, rallies, chat shows, news interviews - every available venue in red counties, blue counties, purple counties. Get their collective shit together on the messaging, which they’ve been historically awful at.

If they do that and start it NOW, they have a chance of taking back the House and Senate and marginalizing the Republicans. Will it work? I don’t know. But it’s the only path I can see to stop the spiraling of the US into an actual cesspool of fascist kleptocracy.

Trumps episode is too early to predict if we all get consumed or not.

Now may be a little late. These guys already have their hands upon the machinery of government. If there are indeed elections in 2026, there's no guarantee they will be free or fair.

They still think they have something to loose, and will comply in the hope they'll be allowed to keep it.
Only when it is ripped from them will they stand up, of course by then it actually will be too late.
