Yeah, what they have is the framework for a deal, as opposed to an actual deal. Or, to use one of Trump’s favourite words, the ‘concept’ of a deal. And - as it stands now - I wouldn’t be overly optimistic about Commons signing off on it.

It used to take Congress to do that (tariffs), but it's been legal for a president to do it since 1934, when a stunningly short-sighted legislature ceded that power to the executive.

Well, it's not quite that simple, and ignores the main point: Trump doesn't care what's legal and what isn't. Neither do his pet Congress or his pet court.

It’s exactly that simple. You’re not wrong in saying Trump doesn’t care about the rule of law, but the fact remains that Congress gave him the legal authority to impose tariffs.

Listening to the radio this morning as they discussed the bribe, er gift, of a jet to tRump from the country of Qatar. I am sure I would struggle to say the name of the country as the native speakers do but I can pretty much bet that it isn't "cutter" as the newscaster said over and over again.

I am sure this breach of gifting to a sitting president will be overlooked. 'Cause laws don't apply to the orange one.
