Yes, and some of us atheists sat through Christian church services when we were children and teens, every Sunday for years in my case.

Same here. Mass at least once a week and Sunday School every week for 12 years.

Not the most productive time I’ve ever spent…

This is oversimplified pop psychology. But you already knew that, because the same shared culture you think explains other people's religious views, fails to explain yours.

You clearly missed (deliberately, I’m sure) the qualifier I included. Just like the rest of your ilk with a boner for Jesus, you excel at quote mining.

To be fair John is still reeling from the recent discovery of a scroll which showed that Jesus wasn't real and the bible to be made up.
"For the only way to eternal glory is a life lived in service of our Lord, FSM; Verily it is FSM who is the perfect being the name higher than all names, king of all kings and will bestow upon us all, one day, The great reclaiming"  -The Prophet Boiardi-

The qualifier was about as silly as the premise. How convenient that you happened to be the exception to your own rule.

How convenient that you just so happen to be the exception to your own rule.
More convenient than you creating a rule about what most psychologists know, despite it having all the hallmarks of made up bullshit, and turning out to be just that after just a cursory check? Or more convenient than Belaqua's handy anecdote, about two people, spun into a rule about what the majority of 2.6 billion people believe?

First all, the qualifier was an acknowledgement of the facts.

Secondly, I give a general principle, not a rule.

Third, and most importantly, I think you’d bum fuck Jesus without the courtesy of giving him a reach-around. Metaphorically speaking.

Culture describes the shared aspects of a population (like you unironically making a FMJ reference, which is seen as boomer behavior).

And if culture is defined by what’s shared, then saying that people share things like language because of culture isn’t an explanation, it’s a tautology.
