Not particularly; I feel like a broken record at this point, but I'm a subject of the American Empire - my nation was occupied over 160 years ago... just a few decades after the Yankees committed genocide on my people and then invaded the lands we fled to; only in the most blunt sense of "might makes right, what can you do?" would I agree with that.

Rather it's over 400 years of European tradition influencing and being the foundational model of both Canadian and American culture - and to a lesser extent Mexico up until the 1870 and Latin America across the 1800 and 1900s. Catholic ethics, enlightenment ideals and pragmatic, hard-working Protestantism coalesced into a system of live and let live - though Canada missed out on some of that and we've just about shed that in the name of a liberal imperial state. 

Their heirs are entitled to the fruits of their labor.

Frankly, there is a beautiful Western tradition that’s worth preserving, one that created things like liberal democracy or brought ideas like “all [humans] are created equal” or “maybe slavery is a bad thing and we shouldn’t do it anymore” to the mainstream. 

But I’m painfully aware that the biggest threat to that tradition isn’t brown people or other racial minorities. It’s stupid (mostly) white people who think a dopamine rush from electing a wrestling villain to the highest office in the land is worth destroying literally everything that makes it good.

Red states have been investing heavily in their education system - as a result some of the poorest states in the nation such as Mississippi and Louisiana have surged in national rankings, with Mississippi ranked #1 in 4th grade reading - surging from bottom of the nation just 2 decades ago. On top of this modernized testing that accounts for a students ability to develop concepts based off of pre-learned knowledge rather than repeat memorized answers as well as destroying the powers of teacher unions to protect poor teachers and pedophiles.

On the flip side, states like California and New York - which invest hundreds of billions of dollars into their education each year - have seen steady drops in ratings year after year after year.

So, that out of the way... go ahead and take a look at the graph above. Are you sure it's those "Republicans" that are the issue with Southern test scores? Are you *sure* you want to commit to that point? 

Just know who you are calling stupid.

Do you know the demographic breakdown of the South, btw? It seems like you people think it's only whites here... we are the largest and amongst the most diverse cultural regions in the United States and interact with groups outside of our own far more than in more ethno-homogenous Democrat communities outside of Chicago, New York and California.
