No, I can't shell. It was a question. I assumed no answer. Words are just words. We can define them however we want. People have been creating. Definitions for words since the advent of language. I get to do it to. You have defined atheism as a "lack of belief". I have defined God as reality. Deal with it and argue against "God" if you want.

Atheism is a religion

You get to define it if you create the word. I do not have to deal with you telling people what they believe.
My suggestion, don't bother with acke unless you want to decipher his personal language. RE: Atheism is a religion

People create words. I guess I have created the word "God." it might resemble another word you have heard before, "god".
I define God as "reality". they are synonyms. I believe God exists.
Do you know the definition of cheese?
I believe the definition to be "to anally probe someone with several car batteries." I'm gonna cheese ya, amkerman! Cunt
I have no problem understanding that words can have whatever meanings we ascribe them. I actually don't get how so many people have difficulty grasping the concept. People have created language as a vehicle to communicate ideas. Words are a part of language. In order to communicate we must ascribe meaning to them. The combination of letters in specific order creates the word. The letters, words, and language in general are just vehicles to convey meaning. Words have no inherent meaning, only the meaning people ascribe to them.

You can't just personally change the definition of a word. No one will understand you.
The meaning of a word may change over time, usually due to changes in society of something similar. If you keep on changing definitions, screeching over the meaning of word and not using a dictionary then I'll make you go croodle with your "God" while I trash your computer Cunt
My time on this forum has been an absolute blast. I like you frankiej. The meaning of words don't change over time, people do. Over time people ascribe different meanings to the same word. Religions all define the concept of "God" differently. I guess I to have defined the word "God". My definition is: "reality".
I believe in God. Whoa. Did I just become an atheist and a theist at the same time? Or am I still just a lowly theist? Do atheists still "lack belief" in God as I have defined it?
If you simply changed that to "my reality," people would understand and respect you much more. Well, I know I would.
Speaking for myself, being a theist does not make you lowly. I have never understood why theists think our objections to their arguments mean we hate theists. For me, this could not be further from the truth. My own mother is a theist. My sister believes in ghosts, god and psychic abilities. I love them both deeply. They don't change definitions.
Defining god as 'air' makes as little sense. I see through your argument.
Quote:If I defined pixies as 'air' and you believe in air, then you must believe in pixies. It don't work. So drop the nonsense and go away.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them. Quote:If I defined pixies as 'air' and you believe in air, then you must believe in pixies. Yep. The only difference is that I actually believe "God" is reality. Whereas you, on the otherhand, are simply making a logical argument for the sake of itself. I doubt you actually believe that pixies are air. If you did, however, by my own belief in air, I would necessarily have to agree with you. And, accepting that you are defining pixies as "air". I do. There is no game being played. |
