What a freaking horror show.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Quote:On Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit “rejected prediction market platforms’ requests for injunctive relief against the Nevada Gaming Control Board, concluding that sports-related event contracts are not a derivative regulated by the federal government” and are, instead, subject to state gambling laws, according to CNBC. “Under scrutiny were the platforms’ sports-related event contract offerings, which 44 states argue are nothing more than sports betting. However, the platforms – and their federal regulator, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission – claim all event contracts, no matter the topic, are swaps. Swaps are a type of derivative under the purview of the CFTC, and the agency asserts that it has the exclusive jurisdiction to regulate all event contracts.” CNBC noted that “[l]egal experts have widely expected that the question of sports-related event contracts, and whether state gaming regulators or the CFTC has the right to regulate them, will eventually reach the Supreme Court,” adding that this “now appears very likely, as the 9th circuit’s decision contradicts a ruling from the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals,” creating what’s known as a circuit split.

It appears the deadlock was 11-1 in favour of acquitting her of the murder charges. I suspect, but cannot prove, that the lone holdout was one of the three male jurors.

UN decided to abandon the Mercator Projection and adopt maps that portray Africa for example closer to its real size. The vote was almost unanimous. Only 6 countries abstained and a single small irrelevant and uneducated backwater most people even dont know exists voted against. It was *paper rustling* the *more paper rustling*, ah yes, the USA.

Quote:More voters are identifying as Democrats and shying away from calling themselves Republican, according to the latest quarterly data published by Gallup.

Some 49% of voters surveyed leaned Democrat, including independent voters asked to pick one party or the other. Only 39% of respondents leaned Republican.

That 10-point spread marks a sharp reversal from the four-point advantage that Republicans held over Democrats in the fourth quarter of 2024, when voters sent Donald Trump back to the White House and Republicans swept both houses of Congress. Democrats are seeing their most sizable advantage since 2008, when Barack Obama was elected president, according to the New York Times.

^I’m sure Trump’s 35-cities-in-30-days campaign swing will sway enough voters to erase the Democratic advantage. Even though many of the Republican candidates in those competitive races don’t want Trump anywhere NEAR their districts. Har har, it is to laugh.

Saxony-Anhalt, Germany: Polling stations are closed now and the extremist, right wing AfD has scored 44+%

After a mere human lifetime its en vogue again in Germany to vote for undemocratic, racist parties that dont value human rights like equality and hold many other unconstitutional positions. What a shame!

Those parties seem to be on the rise worldwide. Sad, but true.
