This a public health issue, along with parents refusing to immunize their children. Because these outbreaks of assorted diseases would have been prevented if people drank only pasteurized milk and vaccinated their kids.

This. If people making idiotic decisions only effected them, fine. But if they are risking the health of others (as in the case of children not being vaccinated), it is a whole different issue. It is a similar situation as drunk driving. If you want to imbibe, more power to you. But once you get behind the wheel and start endangering others, all bets are off.

Yep you have the right to kill yourself painfully and thoroughly and come to the realisation that your god is a bastard for inventing bacteria.
Exactly, what kind of sick (so called divine and all loving) being would 'create' such a vicious organism as say the Ebola virus? Which serves no purpose other than to cause extreme pain and suffering - and usually death - to its victim? Any being even conceiving of the idea is more twisted than any human could be! And yet we are the ones meant to look up to and worship him?!!! He should be begging MY forgiveness for being such a wanker! Hey, look on the bright side: Ebola is a virus that is way too efficient for its own good. It kills its victim before it has a chance to spread.
But, Irukandji; that's a disease that can really be considered a legit argument against the existence of God.

I think Ron Paul wants to cut these programs because they have become fiscally dysfunctional and increasingly more bureaucratic. The basic duties and functions of the FDA are admirable and necessary in themselves, when working correctly, but has gradually started over-reaching and selectively only supporting foods that come from CORPORATIONS rather than smaller farmers. It is becoming a more corrupted, biased agency that has come under the control of corporate interests.
The whole organic foods movement is much more complicated than just saying it is stupid because some idiots want to drink unpateurized milk. With more genetic engineering, copious amounts of corn syrup and glucose being added to nearly everything, people just want healthier food. I think it also deals with the farming and storage of many fruits, vegetables and grains. Also perhaps, even most importantly, it deals with the transportation and distribution of these natural foodstuffs. How much food is getting wasted everyday in the U.S when thousands are starving in third world countries? The FDA clearing foods from bacterial infection and screening it's quality are it's essential functions and I assume accomplish this goal overall rather well. But as populations increase, and with ever increasing health problems arising in the baby boomer generations, perhaps some new legislation and reform in food processing would not be such a bad idea. Then again, I could be way off base on this issue because I am not completely educated on it. Yet from some limited personal experience of my own eating "organic" foods, they have always tasted great and seemed healthier, albeit a little more expensive.

Ron Paul wants to cut those programs because he is a fucking maniac who believes in the "invisible hand of the market." He wants the drug companies to find "cures" for diseases so they can amass ever more obscene profits.
Fuck the old bastard.

#1. I don't see how a grown man who served his time in the military (unlike all the other candidates running), was a successful OB doctor for many years and has served as a Congressman for nearly 30 years is what you call a f*cking maniac! If he is a maniac in your eyes, then seriously, who isn't?
#2. who believes in the "invisible hand of the market." What is this "invisible hand" you are talking about? If he supports a more FREE market, in a more FREE society, then what need for any invisible hand talk? Because he says he believes in God? Please, I don't think he sees it that way. You seem to exaggerate your criticisms of Paul. I am sure with all of his experience and knowledge he has in Congress, that he is much more in the know than either you or I or anyone on this forum. Let's at least be honest with that. Unless you have a Phd in economics and business management, and experience serving in federal office, I think it would be outrageous to say that YOU know better than him because you read alot of things on the internet.
#3. Now researching cures for diseases is an ignoble cause! Paul is ANTI-corporation, not pro! ANTI-government, not pro! ANTI-new world order, ANTI-war, ANTI-fascism, ANTI-party system, ANTI-federal reserve, ANTI-establishment! I have to ask so many people on this site who are seemingly so against this simple man, and ask WHY?? How do you not see that he is so much different than the rest of the republican puppets?? Perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, your cynicism gets carried away. But that is still O.K., it is understandable and a very common behavior. I am guilty of these things too. I'm not trying to belittle you personally, that would be pointless, but I do critcize your apparent total disrespect and opinionated trashing of the man. I just don't get why anyone would hate him so much. I mean it's not like we are talking about George W. Bush here!! Then I would understand.

Oh, for the love of fruit loops. The "invisible hand of the market" is a phrase used to describe the benefits of a free market by proponents of it. It has nothing to do with a god, it is meant to describe the supposed self-correcting nature of a free market.
