Except unwanted fetuses, right? Then you are all for the government doing what you want to someone else!

Let me get this straight -- I am presenting documentation of how a small select group of people who refused to get vaccinated or vaccinate their children are the cause of a large, widespread public health hazard outbreak...
... And you want to argue for their rights to shit in our collective health "wellspring"?
Whatever happened to you stating that someone's rights end when they negatively affect others, such as their right to go out in public without fear of getting seriously ill?
We all know there are steps you can take to mitigate disease. None were taken by these a-holes, and because of that, a large swathe of the population were exposed.
I bet you're going to argue that the government had no right to lock up Typhoid Mary ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoid_Mary ), because she had a right to self-determination and what would happen to her body as well, regardless of the consequences.

I disagree, but I think we've had this argument before. I just don't think people should be forced to have any medical procedures unless they have forfeited their legal rights in some way. For example, prisoners should be forced to take vaccinations in order to protect the population in the prison. Schools should be allowed to monitor children's vaccinations. Apart from that, it's bullshit. If someone tried to stick me with a needle against my will, chances are rather high they would get that needle in the neck. It's totally infringing on one's personal space and the right to do what they want with their bodies.

I could compromise along Shells lines on this one for sure. As long as the un-vaccinated stay out of my prisons and my schools (or, really, anywhere that people gather) then they're totally free to go ahead and pass up the shots.

That should be amended to say, "anywhere public where people gather." If our taxes have nothing to do with the place, our opinions don't either.

Absolutely, but can we at least make them wear badges of some sort, so we can identify potential carriers in private business spaces (like the local Applebee's, for example)?
Maybe a big red R for Rubella?
Or maybe they can privately "register" with the host/ess, so that the hostess can discreetly inform potential patrons that a possible carrier is in their midst? Just trying to make sure no one is being wronged here.

Ahhh! Oh, gandalf, no. Making people wear badges?
If you're vaccinated and your children are vaccinated, no problem. Yes, I realize more virulent strains can form. However, that becomes unlikely if children who enter schools must be vaccinated. In a roundabout way, it ensures that everyone who isn't homeschooled is vaccinated.

Inconveniencing those who do not accept vaccinations. What a gentle way to coerce people. They don't seem to be happy about such an arrangement.
Cmon, can we force random people to wear badges with complicated, contradictory, or uncertain classifications then, just to get some good old fashioned paranoia started?
