In what way? This is a testimony from a prophet from Crete because thats what he saw. This testimony is used in this chapter to illustrate a point that many will claim to be believers but are liers.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.

Okay fine, if you want to talk about context, culture, and original language, I would like to ask your take on the original content of Genesis 1:1.

In the very first passage in the bible, it reads, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth". The Hebrew word for God used in this text is “Elohiym” (אֱלֹהִ֑ים), which is actually the plural for the God, so the original text actually reads, "In the beginning, the Gods created the heavens and the earth." There are many discrepancies between the original translation and the translation that people read today. Surely that is not a point in favour of your God?

Aside from that, the list of contradictions I gave you was not an exhaustive list, and if you took the time to look into some of them, it's clear they're not taken out of context. When I've shown people that, and they can see that it nots taken out of context, I've been told that they have been misinterpreted. Perhaps this is the case, but then it's worth noting the bible, being the large text that it is, can be interpreted to say whatever you want!

It's not that they want to remain in ignorance, they just can't bear not knowing so they make stuff up.

I did look about a bit, the kudos aren't visible, a good thing I think. FSM Grin

:Stares directly at Chip:

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The Cretan quote is a paradox, chip. It is like saying "This statement is not true."

You're barking up the wrong tree Chad. For Chip, something being completely untrue can only be further proof of how true it is (but only if he already believed that it was true in the first place).

The plural word for God is used as evidence for the trinity in the old testament. And those questions from that site have been raised time and time again by skeptics and you can find many sites to each question by typing the question in google. As many told me "quit being lazy and use google."

When he said it he obviously didn't mean it as an absolute. He thought people would be smart enough to know that. Do you also correct someone when they say it's 8:00 saying "no, it's 7:59 and 30 seconds"? I mean really?

You can read the minds of the dead? Convenient, because I am forced to rely on little more than their words.

Evidence?

Obviously you lack in empathy. Read the context. This quote is used to illustrate the point that many will claim to be righteous but they are liers. We are not to judge people by their words, but by their fruit. This quote according to the context is not meant to be a stastical accurate illustration, but to contain a message of advice.

Assuming that the bible was written to make sense, that could be so. Then again, that's sort of what is in question around here.
