The problem is that rather than reacting to the fact that the Bible clearly condones slavery, they ignore the point of the billboard and take the quote as a racist statement from the owner.

They could have used an image that wasn't of a black person though, it's pretty obvious that with that image it was going to cause a stir, especially in an area like where that billboard is situated.
The bible verse wasn't written when the African slaves were brought over it was written long before that anyway. Using a picture of an African slave could of been avoided, and the 'racism backlash' could have been anticipated.

Yeah, that's the real problem. Like I said, the media only reports what it wants to report.
