Chemicals are inorganic. What you appear to mean is that it was made from biogenic chemicals. The biogenic chemicals are CHONPS. (Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Sulfur)
My mistake, I should have said organic compounds.
Still not the same thing? Or at least a subset of?

Quote:We use evidence remember. You don't. There is no evidence for god's existence, nor is there evidence to suggest that some higher power is needed. Formation of planets, solar systems and the like are the result of gravity. Where does god come into it?
Your claim, your burden of proof. All I've done is rule it out.
This a claim...prove it.
Quote:We can explain how the cosmos works. We don't need to make up some god thing to explain it. See Stephen Hawking on - Does god exist? It's really good. Goes into detail on it.
Being able to explain things does not prove anything. We can explain the human body and function. We can explain many other things in nature. This does not prove anything. Obviously you want it to. You claim it rules Him out, but you cannot even provide simple logic for this reasoning (other than we can explain things).
Quote:It has everything to do with the post. You can't disprove what hasn't been proved to begin with. Otherwise you should have no trouble disproving the orbiting tea pot or the invisible dragon or the flying spaghetti monster.
All you did was repeat your same question (which makes absolutely no sense). Since I do not know where you live, just go to your garage. If you don't get eaten, he doesn't exists. There problem solved. Man made objects cannot orbit the sun, therefore the orbiting teapot cannot exist.
Quote:You wanna know what I think on how everything got here? This is my answer - ?
A question mark. Because I really don't know. There is no reason to think a god was responsible, no evidence to suggest such a being exists.
I know why you don't know...

It most certainly is. Just because you can only think in binary conditions doesn't mean the rest of us suffer from such limitations.

It isn't when you claim that the evidence suggests atheism as the default position. So binary conditions are sufficient in this case.

Organic compounds is a better term but still not entirely correct. The compound in my avatar (formaldehyde) is an organic compound yet organic is often misunderstood to be the chemicals of life. Tell me, gasoline is an organic compound, would you call it alive? Organic chemistry really should be renamed Hydrocarbon chemistry. Then again, I am a bit on the overly pedantic side with Chemistry.

Alright, I'll be really specific for ya, I know of no evidence that supports god's existence. Happy?

We can explain it through observation, measurement, testability and repeatability. Can you do the same with god? Explain how god created the universe. How he created energy. How he came into existence. Can you demonstrate/prove any of it?

You haven't disproved them. Like I said, disprove what I mentioned in my earlier post. So far you've failed.

'I don't know' is a fucking answer. Don't like it do you?
I'm an agnostic atheist, this means I DON'T KNOW whether god exists or not. I just don't believe such a being exists.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Well, it is the default position in a newborn's mind. No amount of your mental gymnastics is going to change that fact. But I digress....
Also, I love how you completely ignored posts# 49-51. Typical bible thumper, something doesn't agree with your world view & you ignore it.
Seen your kinda here a thousand times, with the same tired, lame arguments.

Evidence does not actually talk to you. It depends on your worldview on how you perceive the evidence. But you have to rationalize heavily to come to conclusion that with all the complexities and intricacies (to the minute details) we see around us suggests that God did not do all this. Just my 2 cents.
So what you are saying is that no evidence would ever convince you that god does not exist? Way to be close-minded.
(April 17, 2012 at 3:45 am)Abishalom Wrote: What is supernatural evidence? All we have is natural evidence and it suggests that it was created by some higher power (God). The burden of proof lies on the prosecutor who has to prove beyond reasonable doubt guilty/nonexistence. So in other words to claim that God does not exists you would to possess all possible evidence (we do not have). So the best you could do is prove that all the natural evidence we have suggests nonexistence unanimously without a hint (reasonable doubt) that God did it.
You are changing your position here. According to your previous post, whether natural evidence points to god is a matter of perspective and therefore useless.

Let's be honest the evidence never led you to this conclusion (atheism).
Quote:We can explain it through observation, measurement, testability and repeatability. Can you do the same with god? Explain how god created the universe. How he created energy. How he came into existence. Can you demonstrate/prove any of it?
How many times do I have to tell you that we can only observe the natural world. But there is plenty of proof of God in nature, if you ask yourself honest questions.
Quote:You haven't disproved them. If you could disprove things as easily as that then I can prove god didn't create the universe, because there was no time for god to make the universe in. So it had to of been something else.
Like I said, disprove what I mentioned in my earlier post. So far you've failed.
You said disprove the orbiting tea pot and the invisible dragon in YOUR garage. Man made objects DO NOT orbit the sun. If there is an invisible dragon in YOUR garage, then YOU can prove it. Just go to YOUR garage and if you don't return...then I guess was wrong.
Quote:'I don't know' is a fucking answer. Don't like it do you?
I'm an agnostic atheist, this means I DON'T KNOW whether god exists or not. I just don't believe such a being exists.
I have no problem with I don't know if YOU never made a claim about there being no evidence for God which you had to retract.

I said no such thing. I said the evidence does not actually speak to you, so therefore it would depend on your worldview on how you would perceive the evidence. You might be thinking too hard.
Quote:You are changing your position here. According to your previous post, whether natural evidence points to god is a matter of perspective and therefore useless.
Please provide the logic for this conclusion. If you actually read my post you will realize I did no such thing.

Of course it didn't, I was an atheist LONG before I even knew what an atheist was. An atheist is simply someone who doesn't believe in god. That's it.
Quote:How many time do I have to tell you that we can only observe the natural world. But there plenty of proof of God, if you ask yourself honest questions.
Plenty of proof of god? Where is it?

Prove it.

It can't be touched. Still waiting for you to disprove it....

I retracted nothing. Still waiting for you to show some evidence of this god of yours.
