But,but, but, Obama is a lame duck. Why on earth would you vote for him again. Because he's not Romney? A LOT of people voted for Obama because he's not GWB. Look at what a bang up success THAT has been.
![]() Romney supporters show clearly that there are easily as many working class Tories in the US in the UK. By that I mean ordinary wage earners naive enough or stupid enough to believe a privileged ,ruthless, millionaire businessman gives a flying royal fuck about them and will make their lives better. That A Theist supports Romney surprises me not a jot or a tittle. The main difference I can see between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats occasionally use vaseline. All he does is parade around angrily contradicting himself all the time. If he gets into office, I might reconsider moving to England.
I am right there with you, Shell. Although I'd be stuck in the US for a while for school.

Yeah, I would probably have to wait a while too. I would kind of need to get England to let me in.

High winds do not last all morning. Heavy rain does not last all day. Why is this? Heaven and earth! If heaven and earth cannot make things eternal, how is it possible for man? He who follows the Tao is at one with the Tao. He who is virtuous experiences Virtue. He who loses the way is lost. When you are at one with the Tao, the Tao welcomes you. When you are at one with Virtue, the Virtue is always there. When you are at one with loss, the loss is experienced willingly. He has shown himself to be an eloquent spokesperson for his points of view. If you are an American citizen who will vote in the upcoming presidential election you can make A Theist very happy by voting for anyone else but Obama. Like myself he has dedicated his signature to promote his political views at this time" How is Romney like Bush? “The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.”

First, they do both have their secret friends, even if Romney's come from other planets. From the atheist point of view, this is a little unsettling. Of course no atheist could be elected president in the US so there is room to wonder just how near and dear they hold their superstition. There is little doubt that Bush holds religion in a shallow, literal, fundamentalist way. I'm not as certain about how important Romney's religious views are to him. Perhaps there are Mormons who come for the celestial wonder but stay for the community, but I doubt it. He is almost certainly a religious nutter. Second, both owe their wealth and their estimation of their own worth to their families. Romney seems to have done a better job of growing that wealth than Bush, but then Bush didn't amass his wealth by sending American jobs overseas in the wholesale manner that Romney did. I only wish more Americans would contemplate how likely someone like Romney would be to understand their interests let alone his desire to represent them. Romney and Bush, like so many of the 1%, are all about justifying their wealth and holding it up as an incentive to others - even though suggesting that the economy (let alone the planet) could ever sustain a whole nation of people living as large as they do - is surely ludicrous.
