I wouldn't call it a stretch to say that
is the game that got me into gaming. Before that, I'd play a game now and again, but I would rather be outside adventuring with my imagination.
Never thought of it that way before

Crystal was awesome. I probably clocked in more hours on that than any other versions.

I was inevitably going to be a gamer. I was surrounded by consoles as a kid.

I'm not sure that's so inevitable... I know plenty of people from religious families who had several systems with many good games, and yet to this day they don't pick up controllers but rarely.

awww... I feel old... I missed the pokemon craze for a year or two... When they came out, I thought it was a kids game and payed it no mind.
Besides, I was a PC guy... in 1997, I would be playing Wolfenstein3D, Doom, Dune, Dune 2, ... ahh, damn, now I want to start DOSBox!

I uninstalled starcraft because I wasn't playing it anymore. These days I mostly play LoL... and have a blast doing it And if Rhythm would get back to the game, I'd probably not be on the forums at all

MoO and WCII and SimAnt await you. Don't know what those are.... but I did play simFarm a lot... enough to realize oranges provided a great income source (provided a decent terrain and weather).
B.O.B (Battle of Britain), my first flight "simulator"; LHX, the second about helicopters; Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (great game, well worth the time spent)...
