Do you mean Germans in general? That is something you will have to work out between you your partner and God.

Have you not been reading ANY of the PNG witch burning posts? We Can't Change the Bible! The Bible Governs or Limits 'santified Christian Behaivor. that is why I can difinitly say that burning witches is not a santified Christian Behaivor!!!

Quote:The bible doesn't have examples of lots of things. That doesn't mean those things are wrong.
Actually it does when you put everything into it's proper context. Paul does come out and identify homosexuality as a sin, coupple that with no santified context for gay sex to happen in, it make gay sex a sin. Again a sin like any other.

Quote:You misunderstand me. I'm bisexual myself, I'm into the dude loving.
I knew it!

Quote: I'm asking you if, despite your assertion that marriage makes sex legitimate in the eyes of god, you would still think homosexuality is a sin even if the two folks in question were married?
Simple marriage has nothing to do with the equasion. People are married all the time, it does not mean the marriage is recognized before God. That is what Makes a Marriaged a santified Marriage.

Quote: Are you against gay marriage, is I guess my question.
I do not care what gay people do, so long as it is not in a public place or on Prime time TV.

Quote:Because if you are, wouldn't that mean you're just propagating sin?
Nooope.

Tell that to all the people who have changed the bible over the years. Big Grin

Okay. I think that actually puts an end to the conversation, for me. I found out what I wanted to know. Thanks for the straight answer, even though I disagree.

I've never once hidden it. Tongue Are you saying that like it's a bad thing?

Ugh, more hoops to jump through...

Well, reconciling gay-friendliness with Christianity is much easier once you realise that everyone just picks and chooses what parts of the Bible to follow and embracing it.

it is only a bad thing if you don't fancy the occasional sausage fest. I myself am not partial to even the occasional sausage festival. So would you be offended If I made gay jokes? Or made sweeping generalizations about gay people and then held you responsible for what some gay people have done or are doing?

As as read it, Jesus made it perfectly clear, in no uncertain terms, that all were expected to hold to the old laws, but you choose to interpret this differently, so that you can comfort yourself into thinking that you'll go to heaven even though you're not killing people as God instructed.

There's a minority of Christians who interpret passages that are normally read as condemning homosexualty as actually condemning ancient practices such as pedestry, ritual sex, bestality etc. And there's some scholarly support behind these readings. Some interpretations are more questionable than others.

Really a lot of passages on sexuality we can't know for sure what is actually being said. But fundies don't like uncertainty and dogamatically preach on what in many cases is just a guess.

Like does Matt 5:28 really condemn "lust" or is it just condemning the desire to have sex with someone else's wife? The former would make all sex including masturbation outside marriage sinful but the latter is just saying to not jack off to your neighbor's wife. There are good reasons to read it as the latter but there are also good reasons to read it as the former. Who knows?

What about wearing mixed fabrics, owning a slave from a different country etc, Why only enforce 1 bit of Leviticus
