Today I had to listen to crazy coworker say that Canadians should not be allowed in American because she doesn't like their address system.

Got up after hitting snooze a few times, decided not to stop for coffee, as a result, got rear-ended on my way to work.
Since then, I've been stuck in an all day meeting. RE: Describe your day.

Today I watched two episodes of Lost, met my sister at our favorite Pho place, now I'm working on my novel (well, taking a break from writing) and waiting for the MMJ dispensary to arrive with my Blue Dream. ETA: ... and drinking a Green Flash West Coast IPA. My favorite, next to Firestone Walker's Wookey Jack.
Got home late (or early) yesterday morning, I'd been absorbed in this fascinating new site called atheistforums.org or something. Anyway, I crashed out and only woke up around 4pm - obviously a lazy day today, not helped by my having zero energy, even to open my eyes. Then I got a text from my great friend Shell, wanting me to meet her in nearby Dudley, after which we spent the rest of the evening chatting about shoes and ships and sealing wax, cabbages and kings. As we often do. I'm helping her cope with a complex personal situation, just as she's helping with mine; good thing I've got shoulders broad enough for the whole world to cry on. Then came home, just got back about three parts of an hour ago.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Ending my day over some Vicaris Winter Ale at my favorite pub - so it's ending on a positive nite. 11% ABV FTW. studied german literature yesterday for my upcoming exams.
Woke up to an alarm I do not technically have to wake up to.
Spent about 20 minutes in bed finishing last night's Doctor Who episode and being pissed that there is still too much snow on the ground for me to run on my usual trails. Did squats, jumps, push ups, planks, deadlifts and other assorted calisthenic exercises in rapid succession for 45 minutes. Contemplated following up with a stretch and decided against it. Made a smoothie and texted Tiberius. Was pleased to know he wants to have sex with me. Drank smoothie while starting another Doctor Who episode and then showered. Got dressed and started writing. My best friend called and asked me if I wanted to go to lunch. I told her I was working. She told me she would be there in ten minutes. Went to restaurant. Bartender thought I was weird because I didn't order anything and drank from my own water bottle that I brought with me. Ordered a salad from a different restaurant on the way home. Did not eat until I was home. (Explaining all of that is a long story) Worked for roughly 5 hours more and then went to my nephew's birthday party. Played with kids, cats and a golden retriever. Also ate cake. Came home. Started working again and still am, when I am not posting on the forum. Yes, my days are all like this, minus the going to places twice and the not running at least a mile first thing in the morning. I even eat the same breakfast nearly every day.
Went for a job interview yesterday with Komatsu.( as some might recall I'm a heavy diesel mechanic).
Got the job pretty much on the spot pending a medical tomorrow. Job consists of flying around the state of WA doing rebuilds on heavy equipment and commissioning new machinery. Pay will be about 180 to 200k a year. So yeah..... it was a pretty good day. ![]() And a little bit of back history....... I have a motorcycling buddy who works for Komatsu and it was he who led the ride down to Pemberton I went on a few weeks ago. As it happens two of the guys who also went on the run are big bosses at KM. We all had a jolly old time and I mentioned I was still interested in working there( I had just missed out on a position in Nov.) Then I get a call last week saying come in, we have a job for you. It's nice to have important friends ![]() ![]() If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71. |
