What a joke! I'd like to see your proof for that whopper.

I understand the sentiment. Unless you are actively seeking to understand God, there isn't much point in picking it up.

Zeno's paradox proves that nothing moves. These guys are so uneducated, they don't realize that Zeno proved 2,500 years ago that nothing moves. What a bunch of idiots.

You certainly moved your fingers across the keyboard to type out that silly comment.

Quote:There is nothing logical about a magical being watching over all of us.

What is illogical about this? It sounds like you are being influenced by atheists mocking religion. Obviously there is no argument here, it is not self evident that a magical being watching over us is illogical. It is almost like you are mocking religion, but you believe that you are making an observation that almost passes as real philosophy.

Hey Mr Indifidel, I am not trying to mock you, not trying to be condescending. Listen to me for a minute. I love you. I care about you.

Open your mind up a little bit. You aren't that deep into atheism. I am not judging you for it. Just open your mind up a little bit. Religion has had many strong defenders in its history. Give them a chance.

I am not trying to be condescending, just trying to open your eyes a little bit. You don't understand things on the same level as the people who you read about. That doesn't make you stupid, I respect you, but you don't.

Open your mind a little bit. God loves you. I love you. Read a book about theology. You don't have to know everything. I don't know everything.

You don't have a rationally defensible version of atheism. The pieces don't fit together in your head. You aren't an intellectual. You have read a few books on atheism. I am not trying to insult you, just pointing something out. Open your mind a little bit. Read a book on theology.

Don't just trust in what others tell you. Read things that are outside perspectives that you usually agree on.

Stop trying to proselytize. Stop being so fucking insecure in your stupid kid's fantasy and demanding that we share in it. Stop trying to pretend that you're a giant brain just because you know a few words and how to look up philosophical articles on wikipedia.

Fuck off already, you pretentious twat.

It is a stupid kids fantasy to want others to be good people? That is not self evident to me. What makes it stupid?

I care about the level of education of atheists. Does that make me a bad person? I care that many atheists are not even at an undergraduate level of science or philosophy, like the people posting on this thread, who see that modern physics proves that God cannot exist (it does not) and are unware of basic argumentation techniques and Greek philosophy.

It is one thing for someone to genuinely use academic methods to process everything they do, and submit their minds to a scientific worldview. This is a bad idea. It is another thing to believe that you have done this, when you have not. When you are following others who have deceptively used logical sounding words to make people believe that as they use the words which signify logical terms, they are actually doing real philosophy or science.

If you have a critical mind, this would bother you, that people are mislead in their assessment of the degree to which they can perceive the veracity of truth claims.

Fixed, for the sake of intellectual honesty.

People do not need to be in your death cult to be good.

I think both sides here consider the other to be closed minded. But one side has empirical evidence, falsifiability, and science; I know which one.
