As the mechanics in Skyrim are far different and are focused on always-on abilities and one-per-day powers (which I find I have rarely used in any of the TES games) and do not give skill or attribute bonuses... for me, selection of race has become more about RP potential than anything else. My gameplay style tended towards playing sneaky fucks that would just as soon put a poisoned arrow in your neck as look at you, so Bosmer I remain.
Yeah, race selection and stat engineering were an interesting mechanic for those games, and you could more effectively break the games too (100%reflect damage/100%chameleon/self-made spells, etc). Less important in skyrim.
Yeah, Morrowind in particular was easy to exploit via stupid merchants, alchemy, and spell creation. Oblivion was slightly harder, Skyrim even more slightly so. As much as I enjoy the crafting components of the game, they have been essentially broken all along. Alchemy is the where the root of the problem is, IMO.

The main quest doesn't feel vital, and is self-important... the mages guild and 'fighters guild' very much feel like "I just joined, FIELD TRIP! I got the same feeling.

See, I never really felt drawn to the Civil War storyline. In fact, I eventually was just like, "Well, I guess I better choose sides and get this over with." I'll pay more attention to it in my replay.

I kinda want what I suggested about the end of the White-Gold Concordat to end anyway just to make the fact that people win against Ulfric (at least in the way I played last time) more of a pointless gesture.
I can't stand either Ulfric or Tulius. When you approach him, his response to you makes you wonder why he doesn't arrest you on the spot.
If I were given the option to assassinate both of them, and put the jagged crown upon the head of the Jarl of Whiterun: better bet your britches I would.

Makes me wish I was playing on PC... I'm sure someone's modded in the ability to make a new high king of skyrim, since the civil war quest is bleeding stupid.

I like Tullius - send him home. Ulfric was a prick, though. I've seen much better characters (outside of video games) who touted the same ideas he did and were much more charismatic and charming. It takes some bigot balls to follow a man like that.
Totally agree about Mr. Jarl Whiterun though, whose name I cannot spell from memory right now.

I havent played in a while and what would interest me alot, is if they finaly released a patch for this weird problem:
to me this is the funniest and most annoying thing in the entire game.
How everyone is affraid of the dragons, and fears the dragons because of their power and how they will take over the worl and stuff.
but bait a dragon towards a giant - and he will get his ass handed to him.

Perhaps because giants remain dumb skinny version of The Hulk and dragons are supposed to be more cunning?

Oh, I hope they never fix that. I have never laughed so hard as when I would be strolling out in the open and some random NPC would come falling out of the sky out of nowhere.
As far as the shouts go, I loved the dragon walls, and the fact that you could hear the chanting when you got close to them. When I found one I would think, "Aww yeah! New shout!" and then the power would turn out to be completely underwhelming. This disappointment was compounded by the fact that there was so much hype surrounding the shouts when information was trickling out pre-release.

Jarl Balgruuf the Greater
Never done the quest from the imperial side, every time I approach tulius he treats me to his assholery, and the lack of respect for "the nord kings... oh, I mean 'Jarls'" by their officers just disgusts me. Then Ulfric chimes in with severe racism together with all of his bloody soldiers.
I mean... how the fuck can you be so bigoted?-> directed at both sides.

There are some things about the game where the battle leading up to the reward is way more complicated than the reward deserves. Two spring to mind immediately, although the dragon shouts are a good example:
The stones of Barenziah
Crimson nirnroot in Blackreach.
Fuck both of those quests.
Did Balgruuf still have a wife? I didn't remember him having one. He ought to have just married Elisif and been done with it.
