Can you imagine a world run by the likes of MS?

Man, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of anything scarier.

Yeah, it was called the Dark Ages.

Yeah, it was called the Dark Ages.

But I think even in the dark ages they had a propensity to learn something. After all, areas affected by the dark ages evolved out of them as a society in one form or another.

I get the sinking feeling that, under the tutelage of MS, it'd be more than a dark age, it'd be a perpetual blackout.

The eye is probably the single-most well represented structure in all of evolutionary biology. You probably should have picked something else - it's been done to death, I see no need to repeat it.

We "make apes" all day long, every time a human being is born. You haven't thought this through at all.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yeah, you gotta love it when a guy sets out to disprove evolution by asking for proof of wizardry huh? Rolleyes

RE: Intelligent Design, Proof III

Evolutionary algorithms which mimic evolutionary processes have been used to design antennas that outperform even the best designs that an intelligent human designer could produce. More proof that evolution is smarter than you.

Wikipedia Wrote:

In radio communications, an evolved antenna is an antenna designed fully or substantially by an automatic computer design program that uses an evolutionary algorithm that mimics Darwinian evolution. This sophisticated procedure has been used in recent years to design a few antennas for mission-critical applications involving stringent, conflicting, or unusual design requirements, such as unusual radiation patterns, for which none of the many existing antenna types is adequate.

The computer program starts with simple antenna shapes, then adds or modifies elements in a semirandom manner to create a number of new candidate antenna shapes. These are then evaluated to determine how well they fulfill the design requirements, and a numerical score computed for each. Then, in a step similar to natural selection, a portion of the candidate antennas with the worst scores are discarded, leaving a small population of the highest-scoring designs. Using these antennas, the computer repeats the procedure, generating a population of even higher-scoring designs. After a number of iterations, the population of antennas is evaluated and the highest-scoring design is chosen. The resulting antenna often outperforms the best manual designs, because it has a complicated asymmetric shape that could not have been found with traditional manual design methods.

Muslim "Scholar"'s talk about the eye reminds me of this scene from "Paul".

but very few of them will fall standing on their edges (let's say 10 of them)

I'm claiming that this process is not-intelligent (and I'm right about that)

A stupid person challenged me and claimed that this process is an intelligent one.

My refutation was taking 10 coins and placing them (on purpose) on their edges; 4 of them stayed and 6 fell down (because of wind, surface, balance, etc.)

My ratio was 40% while the first process ratio was 0.00001%
My "Intelligence" was able to perform 4,000,000 times better than a non-intelligent process.

Ok, so far, so good.

Seems like a huge non-sequitur to me. How does claiming that evolution is very unlikely mean that we ought to try and replicate even one part of it? What the hell would that prove??

The fact is that we're here, whether we were part of 1 million coins thrown up or whether we were designed. The latter explanation requires too many mental gymanstics for my liking, so I think I'll go with the former: there are billions upon billions of stars in the universe. That means there's probably trillions upon trillions of planets out there. You can figure out the rest...
