The precedent set by the OP is make up whatever you like and call anyone who questions it a troll.

You are all obviously trolls... Undecided

Seems like it is, as the passage says the kid is a drunkard.
Quote:it would still be unjust.
Why? Who knows a child better than his own parents?

It's impossible to be gluttonous, alcoholic, and disobedient enough tto deserve the death penalty. You kick a kid like that out of the house.

A person who was either honest or smart would conclude that atheists don't criticize verses that aren't flawed. For many of us, reading the Bible cover-to-cover was the first thing that made us doubt Judaism or Christianity.

Holy needles in haystacks, Batman.

I've posted an explanation several times, besides I'm tired of people not listening, and getting told I'm wrong without any proof.

Go away. Your multiple posts to tell us you're not going to back up your assertions are a waste of bandwidth. Why the hell are you even here?

I've given a detailed explanation of the passage several times and you're screwed up at thinking child

At this point, you've used way more words to excuse yourself from making your case than it would have taken to actually make it.

Interesting. DeistPaladin tried suggesting exactly that and immediately found himself beneath a dogpile of naysayers. Now it's suddenly a good idea?

Well, DeistPaladin is a deist. It's bad when he tries to do it. When Christians do it, they're just trying to save themselves the trouble of going over the same territory over and over....

I've done this before and found myself in a ridicule session, I'm going to do this even though I know there's a session coming, I trust you will not be part of it.

Quote:do you think if you didn't ask God directly but went straight to studying scripture you'd get your answer anyway?

There are passage that have easy meanings and can be discerned by most people, yet there are those passages that require much study and the Holy Spirits discernment and it is those I depend on God to help me learn. Then there are subjects that take even more study and God's help to understand, let's call it the big picture. So yes I ask and receive what God wants me to learn and would not if it was not revealed, just like the passage that's in question by some here.

Quote: Do you think the answer you get might be different without the direct questioning first?

Yes, because the answer would be base on my own human reasoning, reasoning that lacks the understanding of God's greater plan, this plan must be revealed to us from God through the Holy Spirit.

Quote:Also - are you always satisfied with the answers you get?

Yes when I listen to what I'm being taught, God promises truth and truth is what I want. Truth is reality that stands up to test and ridicule, those who test and ridicule can not change the truth no matter how much they think it might.

Quote: Do you ever get an answer that disappoints you in some way? Do the answers sometimes raise other questions?

I may not completely understand what has been revealed at the time and you might say I'm not satisfied, disappointed no, how am I to be disappointed in God's truth. Yes sometimes they do, like when I'm not satisfied and I continue to ask and read scripture.

Quote:Too many questions - sorry - just trying to understand a bit more of your process.

Like I said, I've done this before and found myself in a ridicule session, and as long as your not part of it I'll answer your questions, I have no problem with sharing as long as others are reasonable.

Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

It's the principle of the issue, not the amount of words that it takes to explain the subject. I get tired of going over the same verses time and again because people want listen. It's some of the same people that were involved in the previous explanation. IMO all they want to do is waste my time and yours.

Smile GC and I'm praying for you.

'misslucky26' is the one that started this and the one I refused to answer, why, because she's the one that throws this subject out all the time and I know I've answered her. Then you guys pile in as usual, not interested in the answer only in giving Christians a hard time and you wonder why we do not trust you.

If you're going to practice argument ad nauseum, then you had better be prepared to explain your position every time you present it. Expect the same refutations every time.
