You need to hear something closer to the truth, one can't read in the dark, one can't speak with others, they'll to busy complaining about their situation they made for themselves. Hell is a place full of hatred, selfishness, contempt for God and others, sadness, and ect. Also breakfast is not served in hell or any other meal, loneliness is a thing each will be able to enjoy in hell.

Well actually that depends. You see since hell is only seperation from god, that won't be so bad since god never provided a meal nor does light come from him. Of course I was just going by the description given by snow tracks.

Just wanted to set things in order, didn't want you to believe something different than what it's like.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I don't understand what is meant by "separation from god." Does it mean that human souls wind up in some other place where god does not interact with them? We have that now, and we call it "Earth." Is it some other metaphysical realm, where the damned wander with nothing to do and no purpose in life, or are they able to do stuff? Can they build societies and invent stuff and throw parties, or is it a universe where balloons and chocolate frosting do not exist?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

If that were true you wouldn't be a christian at all.

Yes, I am serious. I see many references to hell being "separation from god" but no specifics as to what it means. Are the souls of those people in a particular place, and what is that place like? And what is the basis for the claim?

Pascal was a coward and a moron. If you waste your life believing in some irrational imaginary construct on the off chance it's real then you are absolutely ridiculous. It means you have no true conviction of said faith and lowers you to a point of an afterlife survivalist that wastes the one life you have.

Let's say that this omnipotent and omniscient deity (two things that completely contradict each other in the first place but that's a different topic entirely) who knows your very thoughts, is real. Ridiculous, I know, but hang in there for the sake of the argument. If he/she knows that you're only choosing to believe in him/her for the sole purpose of not burning in eternal hellfire or being separated from him/her do you really think this god would welcome you with open arms in the first place?

That aside, don't be a coward and don't give in to fire and brimstone indoctrination, throw out Pascal's Wager and believe what you want to believe because that is what you want and for no other reason.

As for the understanding of the Judeo/Christian hell, also known as Gehenna, Abaddon, Sheol, Hades and Tarterus, it depends on which biblical writer or interpretation you agree with. Commonly known as a place of eternal punishment in a 'lake of fire', it is also referred to as a place where the soul in question is simply unable to be with god.

The wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_Hell) is quite detailed and you can always find more information from study bibles with more in-depth references and interpretations located in the margins of the page.

Frankly I believe it's all bullshit but hey it's always good to have some knowledge.

Yes - you are making a claim - he is asking YOU to support that claim - do you have proof of the existence of Hell in any way?

SInce we accept the bible to be a group of FIctional Stories - please USE things for which YOU can provide real proof.
Example - there is NO proof that the christ ever really lived - there is NOT a single document that we have that can be dated to his supposed time that even mentions his name - none at all. THe New Testament - was not written by anyone during the supposed time of the christ - that can be proven as well. In fact - we do not actually know who wrote most of the bible - the original bibles were UNATTRIBUTED - and those names were added later. (Again - with NO proof of origin or authorship)

if duel revelation (nature, and scripture) isn't recognized, there isn't any evidence; eschatology provides that information.
but maybe there is another possiblity, a person's conscience: God concept is there, but hell concept is a ? mark.
Atheist Credo: A universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.

I think that duel revelation is when we find out who was the more accurate shot.
