Why is having a mod on the ignore list against rules?

RE: Why is having a mod on the ignore list against rules?
I thought of not posting here ever since this thread started (and boy does it feel like it's gone on forever), because I know I'm not one of the most serious members here. I could be, if I wanted to, but even though AF is fun, it doesn't define me, so I chill. It's a good idea to chill.

So, I have to say this. And it's funny because on the day this thread started I repped both Tiberius and TGAC before I even saw it. I stand behind my reps.

Here goes:

Am I the only one who has been thinking... Tiberius is the creator of AF. Other than voluntary donations, membership here is free. Am I wrong? Am I missing something? I probably am... it's ok. Just thought I would ask, because the thought has been making its rounds around my head. (I'm scared)

I think both of you are awesome, regardless of the replies I get after this. I won't take it against you, because you don't know me. Just the way I don't know you before thinking you are awesome. It's what happens online. That's why I chill. Cool Shades

(I might bite if I am attacked, in a chill, online-ish way.) Tongue

Tiberius is the Creator, he made everything you see here..
And, he pays dem bills. Wink

I'd quite think blocking him is a bitch slap in the face.

But that's me.

I think in this case the sexy german is going to have to use his own edit function to block out that which infuriates him, like in real life.

But that's me.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I think sticking ones head in the sand is juvenile and more importantly, it is extremely easy to simply scan past someones name with your own eyes without reading their input. This plus one's own ability NOT to respond allows a person to ALWAYS ignore someone if they are so desperate to do so.

I hate to chime in here, but I feel it has to be said.

It's all well and good saying it's so easy to ignore someone, but when said person's posts take up mountains of space, and clearly disrupt the flow of a thread, it isn't just about "can you ignore them". More "does it disrupt your foruming (if that's a word) experience"?

I dunno, my reasons for having certain people on ignore aren't just because I don't like them or can't control myself enough not to respond. I think there can be more reasons than that for having someone on ignore.

I'm sorry to say, but you sound like a tourist in India, not wanting to see beggars or eat curry. Dimwits will (unfortunately) always be a part of foruming, but if they indeed get disruptive, I personally prefer the banhammer to the ignore function.

Fair enough and point taken.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Last time I checked, that was the system in place, yes.

Yeah I get that and I wasn't insinuating that I was expecting anything less. Just trying to give some perspective on why people might use the ignore feature. People can be disruptive without breaking any rules (hell there are a few on here), so the ignore function is quite useful in these instances IMHO.
